WarEagle10 77
I am not exactly sure how it works. I looked at the standings. We are dead last in the West. However, there was something like three teams in the East who had a worse conf. record than us. If the season ended today, would we be in the SEC tourney? buzzurd24 11
I believe top 12 make it. The winners of each division get to be the #1 & #2 overall seeds.
WarEagle10 77
Thanks for the info. That is what I was hoping. We need to get two wins this weekend.
autigeremt 6,643
We need to get a sweep if possible. The overall record is critical for any hopes of a possible regional bid.
PowerOfDixieland 3,226
Check this one off. By way of yesterday's win over Florida we are officially in. If (if) we could sweep the Hogs at home, with their league leading ERA of 1.87, and bammer gets swept by Vandy in Nashville we would finish ahead of them in the standings. One can hope. AU64 10,122
Vandy is 24-2 in the SEC and that's amazing....can't recall any SEC team so dominant in the conference. LSU and Vandy with 45 wins thus far...two very powerful teams and was really tough that AU opened with them....could not have helped the team's confidence to face those guys right out of the gate. PowerOfDixieland 3,226
How confident are you that we will get an invite POD? No invitation necessary, we are 100% in the SEC tournament. Top 12 teams get in, Georgia is already eliminated. Statistically the best Tennessee can finish is .357 (10-18) and the worst we can finish is .367 (11-19). As for where we will slot seed wise, I'm holding out hope for #8. There will be some real battles in conference play this weekend. As for the NCAA, that's another story altogether. I still think it comes down to UK, aTm and us for the ninth (and final) spot out of the SEC. UK is at Mizzou with the Tigers really needing to sweep just to get in the conference tournament and aTM is at Tennessee with the Vols in the same position needing to sweep. Arkansas may believe they are playing to host an NCAA regional at this point. They also have a very good pitching staff.
auburn4ever 1,266
No one in the Auburn family should be happy with 1 and done with coach who's been on the Plains for 5 years now. Also, lets not forget this our our 4th losing conference record in the last 5 years.
