A Day (And A Cheeseburger) With President Trump

An eye popping excerpt from this article but not really surprising.

"Trump was strutting up and down, talking to his new members about how they were part of the greatest club in North Carolina," Dodson says. "And when I first met him, I asked him how he was — you know, this is the journalist in me — I said, 'What are you using to pay for these courses?' And he just sort of tossed off that he had access to $100 million."

$100 million.

"So when I got in the cart with Eric," Dodson says, "as we were setting off, I said, 'Eric, who’s funding? I know no banks — because of the recession, the Great Recession — have touched a golf course. You know, no one’s funding any kind of golf construction. It’s dead in the water the last four or five years.' And this is what he said. He said, 'Well, we don’t rely on American banks. We have all the funding we need out of Russia.' I said, 'Really?' And he said, 'Oh, yeah. We’ve got some guys that really, really love golf, and they’re really invested in our programs. We just go there all the time.' Now that was three years ago, so it was pretty interesting."

I'd be more shocked if I didn't know about other multi millionaire business people in America who use foreign networks to get funding for projects. Russia, China, India, Isreal, Saudi Arabia. There was a time when it was the other way around.

It wasn't just Trump it seems....I recall the above event in our community.   .

Or just the the Russians for that matter...  http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-china-malibu-golf-20160901-snap-story.html

US is a very good place for foreign investment and has been for many years.

Guess if I were going to worry much about foreign "investments" I would be more worried about how much our government owes to foreign holders of bonds representing our national debt....total now exceeds $6 TRILLION held by foreign countries and citizens.

The figures in the link were from a few years ago when National Debt was only 16T....and now is about 20T of course.

I heard one time the folks in the Hollywood film industry thought like communist. I wonder if they were getting loans from Russia too. ;-)

Ah yes, Trump laundering kleptocratic Russian money.

Sounds about right, considering what we do know.

If the Democrats ever take control of the House, there will be a wave of investigations that is hard to imagine.

And if our government doesn't expose this president for what he is, we are destined to elect more like him.

And this was happening in 2014, as Russia was annexing Crimea and at war in Eastern Ukraine.

I think it is hilarious how the Trumps feed BS to reporters and they run with it. Does anyone have ANY evidence to support Trump having millions an a Russian bank? Dodson offers none other than the little comment made by Eric which is likely a BS answer. to Dodson's probing. Here is one example of allegations Snopes says is unproven.

If only there was a document that could be released that put all this to rest...

I love how the Trumpettes rush to the defense.

Can you even imagine their reaction had Obama been the one secretly accepting Russian financing?
