If that has been the biggest issue with Trump, I doubt it would have been a big deal. It just highlighted his disingenuousness as he courted the evangelical vote.

I'm well aware he's a gaffe machine.  I've never suggested otherwise.  But that's what it was - a gaffe and that was my entire point.  Trump's wasn't a gaffe.  His was complete ignorance of a faith he claims to champion.  That's the only distinction I was drawing.

The people who act so appalled by what was clearly a gaffe are the same ones who defended
Trump for suggesting disinfectant's be applied internally to kill covid.
