Charlie Ward failed to qualify under prop 48 when it was a sliding scale, meaning he was basically illiterate coming out of Thomas Cty (Ga) h.s. Good guy, not an unintelligent guy, coddled and immature h.s. athlete.

I find it funny that the "progress towards a degree" NCAA rule essentially stops at the 80% stage after year 4.  So Stetson had to take 18 hrs a year and was essentially randomly taking 6 classes a year that didn't help him graduate...but he passed 18 hrs and was above 80% in year 5, 6, & 7
