What good players have left in large numbers?  Maybe one off here and there, but they aren't losing guys they want to keep

I hate to say it, but Bama's 2nd and 3rd string guys are starters at a lot of places.

Calzada is going to FCS program Incarnate Word. Finley will land somewhere, no way a sec qb commit doesn’t fit at some smaller school somewhere across this whole country.

Finley is currently back with the Auburn program.

Not trying to argue; just based off of raw numbers, quality kids are leaving. Almost everyone he gets is a four or five star and he is losing 40% of them. In my opinion, you don’t have to agree but in the future he simply won’t have the same quality depth that he has now because these kids don’t have to wait around for Saban to decide anything. They can enter the portal and get NIL money from someone else. Again that’s at least one of the reasons he’s losing four out of 10 of the guys he recruits out of high school.

To your point, I’m sure some of them are being processed but he can’t be processing 40% of his recruits. A quality four star no longer has to wait for the five star to graduate or declare for the NFL to get playing time. He can enter the portal and get paid without having to sit out a year or have lil nickie decide where he can play etc…

I agree that while they were at bama they were washouts whether they didn't fit the system, just were beaten out by better players, didn't put in the effort I don't know. I won't call them washouts until I see how they do under new teams with new coaches and systems. Because they did not show out at bama does not make them washouts. Malik Willis was a washout at Auburn as he was never able to beat out Bo. Every player is different some need tough love others need positive feedback to excel. Some players excel in one system and don't in another. It is why we see some transfers shine after transferring and to be honest many transfer and nothing changes.
