On Wednesday, Baltimore City Schools police took a 7th grade student into custody at Joseph C. Briscoe Academy after he was found with a loaded handgun.

School officials say earlier today, the student was involved in an altercation with a staff member.

Then the student left the school building after the incident indicating he would return with a gun.

After the student left, the school notified City Schools Police, who were at the scene when the student returned.

Officials say no one was injured.
