Pretty embarrassing that AU hasn't won a SEC Championship since 1998 in the tournament or since 1978 in the regular season.

We made some unfortunate choices in head coaches. Should have hired Butch Thompson years before we did.

Yes, but Butch hasn’t got close yet to a SEC regular season or tournament championship. I really like him, but Auburn needs to start winning and competing for SEC championships.

I understand your sentiment, but you have to understand that the SEC is now the top dog in College Baseball.   It’s extremely hard to win the conference.   I would say that it is harder to win the conference than it is to win a national championship.    I’ll keep taking hosting regionals, super regional wins and CWS appearances.

Yep.  Ask Ron Polk about the meaning of competing/success.

We have had no Hope schoolys like everybody else not named Bama so we have had 11 schollys total where everyone else has filed their rosters with full schollys   BT has been playing with one hand tied behind his back.  Nil will help us.  Despite our limitations, we have been to 2 CWSs.

Absolutely….never understood why the state of Alabama doesn’t seem to want to help the universities and colleges throughout the state.   Especially when dealing with a stupid rule as 11.7 scholarships.

I don’t know how someone that remotely watches Auburn baseball and thinks that Auburn isn’t playing at a high level.   Auburn has been to two CWS in the last four seasons (2020 Covid yr).   That’s a huge accomplishment.

It’s actually come down to 11.7 from 13 when the NCAA cut football down to 85.   It’s all about offering equal amounts of scholarships to women sports and to keep “competitive balance “ in baseball.   It’s so schools don’t cut sports just so they can offer more baseball scholarships.
