For all you "Recruiting" cry babies...

REMEMBER, IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT THE STARS AND THE CLASS RANKINGS. IT'S WHAT THE COACHES DO WITH THE TALENT. And with our coaching staff, I feel confident no matter where our class is ranked.

For God's sake people, we have beat our biggest rival for the last six years. For those of you, like me,

who had to suffer thru NINE straight losses when the Bear was there, this should mean more than anything.

Our Tigers are going to be just fine. War Eagle!!

Not to sound like I'm disputing you or your rationale, but I lived through those 9 years myself and I would respectively point out that "they" beat us all nine of those years in recruiting as well. Moreover, Coach Jordan had a pretty good ole coaching staff as well. Coach Bryant once said and it's true: "you can't make chicken salid out of chicken feathers." Finally, I am not by any means implying that this recruiting class is made up of 'Chicken Feathers", but rather have shown concern with the fact that Saban and others have literally raped the state this year for MOST of the players who were highly touted by the national and local recruiting services, and gotten many of the top rated players who we had offered and lost (unlike years past) Remember when it came down to the last for Obamanu, Oromoshudu, Cadillac, Cox, Ryan Williams, Zeimba, Burns, et al? We got our share! ;) Not this year! Why?

Getting most of the in state players means squat.

1) They always do.

2) The talent level of Alabama HS football players is usually lower than schools in our surrounding areas. The top GA and FL players are hands down better than the top AL players.

Let uat keep thinking its dominating us in in-state recruiting. As long as they think that and put so much effort into it, we'll be better off.

Because we finally have a coach that knows what he is doing. I've tried to tell you people, Saban could out-recruit just about anyone sleeping, with one arm tied behind his back. Believe the hype...... B)

We can be successful with giving UAT a 60/40 cut of in-state players. We can't, year in and year out, have Bammer getting their 60%, then out of state schools picking off three or four more blue chippers. One year, this year, won't matter much. We don't want it to continue.

As for the snapper scholarship: An established program with depth everywhere can afford the luxury of signing a great specialist. It's called putting on finishing touches. A program like UAT's that is struggling to break even in the won-lost column can't do that.

Why do you insist on picking on this guy in 75% of your posts?

Because he's got nothing else.

At least the 'cruitin smack is an upgrade from the gymnastics smack.

If I were the NCAA, I would look verrrrrrrrrrrrry closely at the Bammer signees this year and hereafter as long as Saban gets the players he's getting, and I imagine that they will! He'll screw up because he didn't live in Bama when the Sh-- hit the fan after Dumbose and this time, they'll likely get the death penalty. Arrogance and carelessness doesn't pay off in the long run legionfield.

Oh yeah, because he never recruited well at LSU or Michigan State.....he MUST be cheating!! That is as tired of an argument to bammers as you think "12 NCs" is...... It couldn't be because our facilities are now second to none, coupled with the fact that we have a staff full of phenomenal recruiters. It MUST be cheating.....sheez.....

Legion, there's nothing more fitting than to have a bammer like you on an :au: board.

Two reasons:

1. You have the screen name of an old, broke down, nearly abandoned site of former glory.

2. You wet yourself over winning one year of recruiting battles. Everyone knows that a new coach's first year of recruiting at a national power is the easiest. String four together like this, and I'll be worried.

That might be true ... but Georgia seems to be "locking down" their state (via rivals.com)

1 Omar Hunter FL

2 Richard Samuel GA

3 DeAngelo Tyson GA

4 A.J. Harmon GA

5 Joshua Jarboe OK

6 Jarmon Fortson AU

7 Brice Butler USC

8 Toby Jackson GA

9 Tavarres King GA

10 Cornelius Washington GA

...And everyone goes into Florida now...Auburn's highest rated recruit in the state is #39.

Beat La-Monroe, then I'll be worried. But he sure can recruit!

I'm sorry, but this is a loser response. Saban's last 2 years at LSU he had the #1, then #2 class in the nation. He was NEVER under any sort of cheating scrutiny. He doesn't have a history of cheating to get recruits.

You are doing EXACTLY what you all accuse us of doing. The second you lose, say the one who beat you is cheating.

I recall a multitude of people, Bama fans included, that harped on TAMU's & Oregon's facilities. :poke:

How about this.

Bama has a great class this year. If Saban can actually make an impact with these kids he may keep up that kind of recruiting.

Auburns class has been awkward due to new offensive efforts, deep seeded freshman talent, and suffering the first year hype of Sabans recruiting efforts. On top of that, more schools around the country are raiding Florida than ever before.

So, basically its a lets see what happens.

Auburns finishing with a top 15 class unless we get jumped by a few schools and alabama will finish in the top 3 or so. Great job bama.

Lets see if you can coach them up with 5th choice assistants and Darth Vader at the helm.

Basically your point, is mine...without the parting shot :)

We can get all the 5 stars in the world. But until they prove it on the field, Auburn has in their posession, all the bragging rights.

:roflol: So recruiting does matter? :roflol:

Of course recruiting matters - it's the rankings that don't necessarily mean squat. :P

Auburn's previous recruiting class rankings:

11th - 2002 ranking

16th - 2003 ranking

31st - 2004 ranking (jetgate)

22nd - 2005 ranking

These are the same kids that now have the 5th best winning percentage in the nation (42-9-0), and also the ONLY undefeated SEC season during that timeframe, despite a couple of cheap NC's by LSU and one by Florida (who we beat that year). Oh yeah, I forgot - and the same kids that OWN Bama too!!!

Just some hard facts according to rivals.com

The best defense in the SEC(Auburn) had as starters

1-5 stars

3-4 stars

5-3 stars

2-2 stars

Meaning 7 starters were 3 stars. Counting Antonio Coleman(3 star) would make 8.

The worst offense in the SEC(Auburn) has as starters

5-4 stars

3-3 stars

2-2 stars

1-0 stars

I seen this on another site and found it verrrrry interesting!!
