John McCain slipped and admitted the invasion of Iraq was over oil today:

“My friends, I will have an energy policy which will eliminate our dependence on oil from Middle East that will then prevent us from having ever to send our young men and women into conflict again in the Middle East.”

Expect total media silence.

Because, ya know, he's lovably charmingly confused at times, but that's only because he loves America so much.

If this guy keeps this crap up over the campaign (which I fully expect him to do), he'll throw the Republican agenda into the crapper for a loooooong time.

I still don't see how the Iraq war was for oil. Oil was not even an expensive commodity when we went over there. Look at it now.

I'd buy Bush being power hungry or wanting to get Sadaam since his dad didn't...waaaaay before I'd buy that it was for oil.

So because McCain agrees that the oil is funding terrorism in the middle east, he now believes the war is about oil? You guys are knobs. The war is about terrorism. Terrorists need money. They get their money from the middle east. The middle east gets their money from oil. If no oil is being used, no oil is being bought. If no oil is being bought, then no extra money is made for funding terrorism by the middle east. Therefore, if no money is spent on terrorism, we don't have to go over there and fight it. So isn't this the argument you libs have been making? You should be happy McCain sees it your way too.
