Yeah, gotta admit that there's nothing distinctly "Louisiana" about that list...you could sub in several Southern states.

Now, if it had said something about crawfish, boudin, nutria and beignets being the four major food groups...or knowing that it is really Westlake that smells bad, not Lake Charles...then you have something.

I don't know if I've seen too many armadillos on the road in Louisiana...seen lots of possum, but not many armadillos...I've hit one of those suckers before and it makes the god-awfulest racket you've ever heard...darn near scared the pee out of me.

I hit an armadillo one day in Arkansas.

The rolled into a ball as it flew out form under my car, rolled and bounced, and them bounced up, right into the grill of the car following me.

The grill and armadillo both disintegrated......It was a mess.....

I went fishing with my in-laws in south LA 2 weeks ago. They told me we were going to catch some "sac-a-lait". I was all excited to see the this new species of fish. We caught a mess of crappie and I'm still waiting to see a "sac-a-lait". ;)
