Big Fish - AU

Recommended Posts

Just watch the Movie -- "Big Fish" (it sucked) and the girl he falls for is at "AUburn". I did not recognize any of the shots, but still pretty cool.

HEY canucktiger!!! Does Toronto get above 55 Degrees. I've been here two months and still wearing winter clothes. Please tell me relief is in sight. I've never seen such a swing in the weather in one day.

I have to watch DVDs because all we have here is CTV (Canadian TV). Leafs, Leafs, and more Leafs. I wish the Flyers would finish them off so we can hear some real news.....Like how Quebecian separatist party would like to be an independent country with all the 101 benefits of the Canadian Socialist government -- Free everything, tax everything.

To H*#% with DirectTV and killin the HU card!!

I saw it this weekend also and thought it wa OK. It was filmed in Montgomery and the shots of AU were actually Huntington.

I didn't like the way they kept saying Aw-burn though.

Was AU even AU in 1953?

The majority of the film was filmed in Holland and Wetumpka. The Auburn shots were actually filmed at Huntington. But you can catch shots of the Edmund Pettus Bridge....

Officially, Auburn in 1960, unofficially called Auburn long before.

Actually they wanted to film the parts of the film that mentioned Auburn on campus. But our fearless leader and owner, Bobby Lowder, didn't want "Hollywood" to envade his beloved Auburn.

DUMBA**!!!!

Think about how many kids that have never even heard of Auburn saw that movie and probably would have looked into the school if it was really filmed here.

I'm still very upset with Lowder dropping the ball on that one.

I just rented the movie last week and enjoyed it. Having grown up listening to stories, growing up and telling my kids and now grandkids bedtime stories, I appreciated the movie. Now if I can only figure out how to get my granddaughter to not call almost daily wanting to know when we are going to get a horse from Texas.

I just saw it last night, and really liked it. Although I could have done without the shot of Danny Devito's butt. :puke:

Yeah I could have went my whole life w/o seeing that! As much as I loved the movie I do have one additional permanent mental scar because of it.
