A well informed well read individual would know who he's talking about. What kinda books they let you read in that school of yours???

i have indeed read ALL the LB books...TYVM!

i hadn't read the other guy's book or whatever...

i just got a kick out of his feeling the need to explain who his famous people were.

didn't you meet lewis grizzard over there in georgia before he passed away?

if so, that'd be the winner, hands down!

Actually Justin Timberlake is from my hometown and I've seen him multiple times at parties and such. Britney was a once in a lifetime thing, however.

I completely forgot about Lewis Grizzard. We met & talked to him at the 1993 AU vs GA game in Athens. :D

Another I forgot about is Charlie Finnley, former owner of the Oakland A's.

He attended Ensley HS in Birmingham. He came back & spoke at one of our homecomming pep rallies. :D

alright tigermike...i gotta ask:

how old are you?

ct

I did not go to school with Charlie Finnley, (but my Mom did). But to answer your question, I am 54. :D So as you can see, I attended Ensley many years ago! :D

As for meeting Mohammed Ali, I met him on the street in NY city, in front of the Playboy Club, to be exact. I was in the service & we did not get into the PBC.

Emmitt Smith :puke::puke::puke:

Also several years ago, I got the opportunity to meet the Harlem Globetrotters. Actually officiated a game before the globetrotters came out at the civic center between Roy Jones all star team and the team the globetrotters regularly play.. Chris Davis was on that team..

Yea, he's a normal guy. His son (Dallas) is really cool too. We became good friends throughout the filming of Hometown Legend.

I only put who they were because anyone like me who is bad with names might not know/remember.

My grandaddy used to get up at 5 am every day and watch Country Boy Eddie. Man that brings back memories. The bad part about that is he used to drag me out of bed with him.

I used to work out with Sting, Lex, DDP, and Kevin Nash. Does that count?

I just thought the same thing. I met Jim Fyffe in the lounge of the Sheraton in Nashville the night before the Vandy game in 2001.

I remember getting up to get ready for school as a kid and Country Boy Eddie would be on the TV. My mom and dad watched his show all the time, and I thought he was most likely the biggest goober ever to be on TV. Some good did come out of it. Through his show, I did acquire a fondness for Golden Eagle Table Syrup that I have kept to this day. He had some really horrible singers on that show though. He would go on tour with his band and they would play these small town parking lots across northeast Alabama. I met him when I was about 8 or 9 years old in the Piggly Wiggly parking lot in Pell City.
