bigbird 60,512
It looked like a high ankle sprain. When you roll your ankle so that the outside of your foot touches the ground you get a regular ankle sprain. When you roll your ankle so that the inside of your foot touches the ground you get a high ankle sprain. In actuality, it's not your ankle at all, it's a strain of the anterior and posterior tibiofibular ligaments. These are the ligaments that give support and structure to the junction between your tarsals and tibia and fibula.

bigbird 60,512
They can be more nagging than other sprains. When you see them pressing and feeling on the outside of the lower leg it usually means they are checking for a high ankle sprain. That's what it looked like they were doing to me. chimesAU 89
Ankle sprains can be worse than a break. Glad it isn't his knee but sprains can really nag for a long time.
JamesG 0
Im not a doctor, maybe someone here is, but isn't 3 1/2 months enough for even a really bad high ankle sprain to heal??
bigbird 60,512
it all depends on the severity. I've seen some come back within a week or two and another that was out for months.

tigerwings 75
It could be an avulsion fracture. I had one two years ago. I was crossfitting a month later. So by summer workouts he should be full force.

Sully to Beasley 643
Poor Barber...first carry resulted in a fumble and an injury. Thankfully the injury is not supposed to be serious. This kid is going to be a big time back IMHO.
