Syria Has Used Chemical Arms on Rebels, U.S. and Allies Find

By MARK MAZZETTI, MICHAEL R. GORDON and MARK LANDLER

Published: June 13, 2013

WASHINGTON — American intelligence analysts now believe that President Bashar al-Assad’s troops have used chemical weapons against rebel forces in the civil war in Syria, an assessment that will put added pressure on a deeply divided Obama administration to develop a response to a provocation that the president himself has declared a “red line."

But wait !!!

What red line ?

Obama walking back claims of 'red line' threat.

Guess he thought his threat of the "red line" would be enough but nobody in the middle east believes his ultimatums or threats. On the other hand, we don't even know who the good guys are over there. Maybe Obama learned that in Egypt and Libya....and is now less certain about who to help in these civil wars. Too often we have helped the wrong side and later found our troops dodging US made weaponry.

Obama makes threat, ala Dirty Harry. " Go ahead. Make my day "

Chem weapons are used anyway.

Obama " Hold on there partner, we don't know WHO used them chem weapons. Could have been anyone "

2 months later ... It was the Syrian govt, using chem weapons against the rebels.

Obama : " Well now, we've got to consider our options. "

:homer:

They say the Kurds in northern Iraq often named their children after Bush and Cheney.

The Syrians won't be naming any kids Barack.

They probably already have plenty of Husseins though.

We are idiots if we try to go into that brier patch. As I mentioned before, this isn't a good side/bad side proposition. You basically have a some tyrannical Nazis going against Al Qaida with a pocket of Syrian Christians and secular liberals caught in the middle. In fact, as bad as Assad is, these folks are probably better off with him in power than the alternative. The proper course of action is to stay the hell out of it and just contain it so it doesn't spill over into friendly neighbors.

...which of course means we'll do the opposite since we refuse to learn anything from Libya and Iraq.

Foreign policy dilemmas are easy to solve when you hate the president, huh?

http://www.politico....82.html?ml=po_r

Wrong is wrong, whether the President is loved or hated.

You have no point.

And how did we learn that Obama was going to send arms and aid to the rebels ? Was there an official press conference ? A statement made from the Rose Garden ?

Nope. John McCain mentioned it on the floor of the Senate, and then some flunky informed the press corps.

Obama uses 3rd graders to introduce him at gay pride event

Obama DID have time to use the WH as a staging area for yet another political agenda, This time, using 3rd graders a props for the issues of gay marriage and gun control.

Hurrah for Obama !

Political pawns are welcome to visit the White House, but Jane and John citizen... still denied access.
