#9? Is that Amari Cooper?! You mean the guy that sucked against LSU, dropping easy slant route passes my 7 year olds could catch? Did he ever top the 54 yds he had in the 1st half?

Yeah, that Amari Cooper - I would base covering him based on that performance anymore than I would tell a team to not worry about CAP because he had two fumbles (at crucial times) in our game. Even good players have off games or portions of a game.

we need a flow chart for the cornerbacks that keeps defaulting back to "COVER #9"

AM I LINED UP OVER #9------YES--------COVER #9

NO---------BE READY TO COME OFF MY MAN IF QB THROWS BALL TO #9

IS #9 RUNNING A ROUTE INTO MY GENERAL VICINITY-------YES-----COVER #9

NO-----BE IN POSITION TO KNOCK THE BALL DOWN OR TACKLE #9

ARE THEY GOING TO RUN A CRAZY SHUFFLE OUT OF A TRIPS SET-------YES-----ERR ON THE 100% PROBABILITY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO #9

NO-----ERR ON THE 100% PROBABILITY THAT THEY ARE GOING TO #9

KNOW WHAT an open field tackle is and be prepared to make one dozen!!!!!

LSU ACTUALLY COVERED COOPER MOST OF THE GAME, OUR GUYS STRUGGLED AGAINST A&M MOST OF THE NIGHT

WE NEED TO PLAY A COMPLETE GAME THE REST OF THE YEAR, AS IN SHOW UP AND BE READY TO PLAY HARD FOR 60 MINUTES, NO MENTAL MISTAKES, NO FUMBLES, AND NO MISSED OPEN FIELD TACKLES!!!!

I'm sure LSU's defense made him scared....don't even say we could replicate that

It's me and I'm proud to do it. I am not available for 2 weeks because I am busy with campouts and BBQ's but will report the Sunday before the Bama game. We will man up on #9 and slide a safety over and if that doesn't work we will go with a 4 2 3 2 alignment. The 3 will be covering #9. I hate to give away my secrets but if we execute it won't matter.

Don't worry, we won't

Suspect that if you were the defensive coach, the entire team would get up, walk out, and quit... including the offense and special teams.

If I were coach, my d- line wouldn't be human magnets to the offensive line, there would be stunts, swim moves, or the famous Reggie white toss and throw rush. My linebacker would know their responsibilities on gap filling , screens. My corners would actually play physical bump and run coverage and last but not least, there will be no diving at legs, not wrapping up tackles and so on. If it happens 1 time, I will find somebody willing to run thru the ball carrier for once. That used to be the AU defense I was accustomed to, I guess I'm just a little homesick because CEJ's style is not appealing to me. Frankly it's kind of soft

In regards to the OP, I don't think X's and O's or fundamentals would be why the players would leave.

Thought I was still on Johnson thread, oh well. I'm still missing that AU defense that we were all accustomed to
