Texan4Auburn 1,626
Oklahoma should be behind Utah. I'd put Cal behind VT also, Texas Tech thrashed them.

LegalEagle 22
We beat 4 teams in the final top 16. We beat one of them twice. How did USC fare? They're pretty close. They have earned the right to play us for the real NC! *grin*
HokieJamie 0
I don't understand putting OU 3rd. IMO they're lucky to even be top 10. VT in 10th played USC much closer.
CarolinaTiger 0
i was really hoping utah would be 3rd. but hey...they had a great season and are one of 3 teams that can say no one bested them this year. ct

scheller 0
I want to know which writer gave us a number 1 vote. 136460[/snapback] I haven't seen the AP voters breakdown yet, but my guess is that Tony Barnhart, (AJC) and Matt Hayes (Sporting News) gave AU two of the three 1st place votes. Neal McCready (Mobile Reg.) voted AU second.
DCTiger 0
The first post has a mistake. Auburn received 3 votes. Did the math. USC received 62 1st-place-votes and 3 2nd place votes. If Auburn would have received all 62 of the 2nd place votes ... they would have ended with 1563. They ended with 1559 ... so 4 people put them in 3rd-place (or maybe 2 people but them 4th-place). As for Oklahoma ... as many as 40 voters DID NOT vote them 3rd (and likely some voted them 5th or lower). Asking around the office here in DC, nobody even made it to see Ashlee Simpson get booed. They all went to bed after OK allowed the 2nd or 3rd TD. Serves the BCS for picking the wrong team to fight the Trojans.

svenica 0
What, people changed the channel before halftime?!? But everybody was telling me this was going to be the best game ever in the history of the universe! I know that most sportswriters were saying that USC was the overrated team this year, but I guess it was Oklahoma all along. God Forbid a team in the national championship have a pass defense...what's that, Auburn has one of the best in the nation? Hmm, Thorpe award winner? You don't say? I would have rather seen that...but I guess that's just a wonderful dream. And to the BCS people who put Auburn below Oklahoma a big resounding... D'OH! scheller 0
Does anyone have a link to the list of AP voters and how they did their final ballot. Just curious. Barnhart (AJC), Steve Kiggins (Casper, WY Star Tribune) and Ryan White (Oregonian) voted AU #1. White had USC #1 earlier. http://www.al.com/sports/birminghamnews/in...00664759130.xml
rolltoomer 0
There was no question what was going to happen to OU. They escaped aTm because aTm fumbled three times in the second half and their offensive spark got hurt. A&M still scored 35 points. Then look what Tennessee did to aTm. They escaped OkState after allowing 45 points. Only won by 3. 80 points allowed in 2 games! That alone should disqualify someone from the MNC.
