That's the best part about the festival. It's like Jazz Fest, where it's all local restaurants selling real food. No funnel cakes or crappy hot dogs. More like BBQ oyster poboys, goat cheese crepes with crawfish, crawfish pies, etc. Unreal.

That's some good food right there......I tell you

We also walked up to Port of Call for a burger and one of their giant tiki drinks. Lays a nice strong base for whatever happens next.

Damn near killed myself with it. Luckily for you, I only mentioned a small sampling of what we actually ate. I won't tell you about the charbroiled oysters that Drago's was serving out of a firetruck that was also equipped with beer taps and flat screens showing the Masters. I wouldn't do that to you.

I didn't upload the song to youtube, I just copied the link from youtube and posted the video on here.

There are sites where you can upload your mp3 music and they will host your songs like youtube.. There a site called TinyUpload, you can upload pictures, songs, and videos and it's free.

If you have a CD of whatever band or songs you want to upload, first you have to put your CD into your computer and rip(copy) the songs to your computer which will transfer the songs into mp3 format. I have Windows Media Player which is what I use to rip my CD's to my computer.

After you've ripped the CD's to your computer, you can go to one of those upload/hosting sites like TinyUpload and upload whatever songs you want on there. After an upload is complete on the hosting site, it will give you a link to your song that you can then post on here or e-mail the link to someone so that you can share the music with whoever you want and they'll be able get the music that you've uploaded.

Depending on your internet speed might determine how long it takes to upload a song. It's been a long time since I've tried to upload a song, so I honestly can't give you an estimate on how long it would take for a song to be uploaded on one of the hosting sites.

As for LP's which is what you've asked about, I'm not sure how much help this will be but here are some sites that may help explain the process of transferring your LP's into CD or mp3 format:

http://transfermymusic.com/vinyl-to-cd-or-mp3/

https://www.bhphotovideo.com/explora/audio/tips-and-solutions/how-record-vinyl-records-computer

Let me know if any of this has helped at all.

Testing, 1, 2 …

Let’s keep it at 2. Also, just Phase 1 (upload from a CD cut) testing. Starting from an LP still pending.

Finally, and apologies, I again end up with some a cappella stuff (ladies this time). Baby steps. Exploring fidelity.

Sweet Honey in the Rock (aside – I can sing lower than their bass)

http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=35772107334124599160

Ambience (tenor has real range, approaching dog-whistle at the upper end)

http://s000.tinyupload.com/?file_id=56924320171177358689

[Many thanks or the road map 91. Hope someday I’ll make you proud]

ETA - some work left to do. I'll persevere.

Awesome day and these guys and their groove make it better

1st cut especially-Given pace and intricacy, not a missed, skipped, or blown beat anywhere in the band. Metronomic.

AUt - 311 is in my top 3-5 favorite bands. They are for real talented musicians. I've seen them a couple times. First time was at Beard-Eaves in '99 with Jimmy's Chicken Shack.

Headed to French Quarter Fest in NOLA Thursday. I have a couple zydeco acts circled. This band looks decidedly un-sexy but I dig the hell out of what I've heard:

These guys blend in some of the New Orleans brass stuff:

Who dat?

Dem.

Do they "three-hour" tour?

Who hasn't ever wondered what Leon Russell would be like if he was a hot chick? Good stuff.

My wife and I have several very attractive lesbians in our social circle. One particularly attractive couple attended a wedding in Mexico that we also attended. We were all out at the pool at the resort in the early afternoon, and it was a zoo. Like an adult spring break. Well, these two girls come out to the pool in their beach wraps and such and then proceed to strip down to their bikinis and start applying sunscreen to each other. I swear you could hear a giant record scratch. Every dude out there just went completely silent. Things started moving in slow motion. It was freaking hilarious.

Sheesh. Sorry. Uh, music and stuff...

Actually, I haven't, but

1.) I have a limited imagination - would you be aiming towards a Bob Seger or such?r or more towards Ms. Joplin/Ms. Tedeschi? somewhere in that range?

2.) I'm not at liberty...

3.) Yeah, music and stuff

Everyone always says The Stones and Beatles hell my favorite Brit band was DC5.......now all their songs may have sounded the same but hell

Mr. Golf, sir -

"Like" comes w./ conditions.

Saw your post when posted. Didn't bother to play/listen because all 3 songs are deeply embedded in my bottom brain, and I was distracted by other things. Since then, however, "Glad All Over" has erupted into a full-fledged ear-worm that I hope I've eradicated now.

Thanks, I think

Big Steve Marriott fan from my hippie days as a golfer at Auburn did I ever mention my girlfriend at the time was the #1 seller of marijuana at Auburn. No I never touched the stuff we were polar opposites. She was from Miami damn girl made straight A's went to tons of concerts with her. The biggest concert I missed with her was The Doors in Miami when supposedly Jim pissed on the concert goers. She always told me he did not do it just pulled it out.......if you get my hint

Never heard. Many Thanks

My poor daughter attracts college buds from country-wide to Mobile Mardi Gras with promises of nameless "meat on a stick."

They're fun, and I still listen to the Blue Album  or Transistor every now and then. 311(any album before From Chaos(we all kind of tapped out then)) was our party soundtrack in high school.

However, their lyrics are about as cheesy as you can get.

I'm Music all the way through Soundsystem. After that, not so much. As far as lyrically, I hear them but I don't listen to them, if you know what I'm saying. I mainly listen to any music for the music and the lyrics are essentially a side note. There are exceptions of course.

Also as a side note, for bassist not in the same realm of a victor Wooten or Doug Johns, I really like P-Nut's groove.  Flea also falls in that category as well, only better.

I feel ya. Their hooks are contagious, but the verses leave much to be desired.

I'm the same way. I'm not without appreciation for good lyricists, and some of them move me to tears, but it's always the music first for me.

When Shocks said that, I thought of you, as I believe I remember you expressing more or less that Stevie was not your favorite female vocalist of all time.
