Apologies but, until the Football Thread wakes up, I continue to plague this one.

Pre-Framton (barely) use of the Heil talk-box.

As an aside, got a pound-adopted hound (mostly black-mouth cur, best we can tell), still adapting to a real home, and damn' near insatiable for me to tell him something good.

ETA - probably makes more sense if I tell you that the dog's name is Rufus.

There was a couple who gigged around Birmingham in the late 90s-early 002 who covered this song. She had short gray hair and glasses and played the flute. He played guitar, I think. They were *awesome*.

Not as good as the original, though. This one... whew

Boogie-woogie guy. Leon Redbone does a more "Dixieland" rendition (if interested)

Saw Leon in a jazz club early 80's in Lauderdale he just show up and started playing. May have been 20/30 people there. The jazz club was next to a Peaches Record store and I think Leon was doing a promo visit to Peaches and decided to go next door. He played about an hour

Saw Greg Allman do something similar. Friend of mine who happen to play running back at Auburn and myself and our dates were at a bar in North Palm Beach next thing we know Greg shows up so s%$#faced but he goes to the keyboards of the band that was playing and took over. I think this was the time he was fooling around with Cher. Started out pretty good but after about an hour his word were slurring so bad and about to pass out.

Alas, never caught these ladies live.

Kate (RIP) was particularly connected in the music world, having been a wife of a Wainwright (Loudon III, who wrote above) and a mother of a Wainwright (Rufus). The Sisters often had guests.
