He said that if everyone of his listeners would send in a dollar and get their co-workers to do the same he could raise a certain amount of money. And if he didn't raise that much by a certain date he would kill the puppy. He posted a picture of a yellow lab puppy on his website, etc. Those who listen knew what was up - those who were unfamiliar with his show would call in and raise all sorts of hell about what he was doing.
