Herndon looking like he is going to have a short night.....walked the batter on a 3-1 pitch and looks like he's done.....Coach Smith chats a bit and then heads back to the dug out......so up to Herndon to get out of his mess....and instead he gives up a 2 run single and score is now 7-5......Betting Smith wishes he had pulled him when he was out there the first time.....

So now Herndon is gone....one batter too late...

Tech has batter around.  Malcwiskiqurial (sp) gets a quick DP ball and the inning is mercifully over ....7-5

New Tech pitcher handling the AU batters with a sub-90 pitch .. a strike and then a ground ball out to 3B and a bouncer to short for out three.

Not exactly a junk ball pitcher but  a big change of pace from the previous guy...

And 3 up  and 3 down for AU to slow Tech down a bit....still need to add a few runs this inning....bottom of 6th ....

Gee at my best I had a better fast ball that the guy out there.....but finally an AU batter got one timed correctly and gets a hit....just need to keep him moving. Estes did not look very good on that final strike...

Well that was nice...Julien hits one to the 385 sign in the canyon to bring Wright home from first and stretch the lead to 8-5.  Julien stops at 2nd

Is that Tech kid throwing a spit ball or something.....the ball is moving all over the place....but in this case, he could not find the plate and walks Holland  to put a runner on first and 2nd with 2 outs and Jarvis singles and brings Julien home and Holland is at 3rd.

And that's it for the Tech pitcher...

And just like that, the Tiger offense figures out the soft tossing sidearmer.  Another call to the bullpen.

Guys like that are only good for one trip thru a line-up.....and the next time everyone has him timed....

One big difference I notice this year is our guys not being as "pull-happy."  Lots of front shoulders staying on plane instead of pulling off.  Not sure if that's a Gabe Gross special or not, but it's nice to see guys letting the ball get a bit deeper and still knocking the cover off the baseball

Williams takes the ball to left center and brings in 2 runs.....another good looking left handed hitter like Julien.

Score is 11-5

Venter flies to center for out 2
