Oregon’s first half is what Auburn should have done throwing short and middle passes getting the ball out quick.  Instead Gus tried to make Bo throw Hail Marys with no offense line play and bad WR route running.

Its a sad situation, but that's a strategy that's used by coaches who are used to having a STRONG running game.

Gus achieves this using QBs, RBs, and WRs running. The QB takes pressure off the RB because the defense cant penetrate recklessly, and then the WR is the switch up. This opens up the deep game for the QB.

In such a situation there are no short throws or medium routes because the run game substitutes. QBs like Bo and Jarrett aren't made for that offense. They run to throw. That's different from doing damage with your legs. That's why Stidham is doing so good in the Patriot's West Coast. That's what Bo needs and Gus can't prescribe.

Gatewood may not be as good of a QB, but he's a better match.

I really hate the play we used to always run where we fake the flood right and then give it back to the running back on the draw, but with aggressive as Oregon is playing and as bad as we are blocking, we should run it at least once.

For that 1st series alone, Malzahn should be fired.

You need to give Gus time to get into a play calling rythm and mold the offense around the strengths of his QB................... Quit being so impatient..

Well, Gus has run out of ideas and crawled into his little turtle shell.

Time to hope this doesn't devolve into a blow out and pray Nix gets through the game uninjured.
