Pregame Notebook: Auburn at South Carolina

  • by Phillip Marshall

It's game day as No. 14 Auburn (2-1) takes on South Carolina (1-2) at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia. The notebook will be regularly updated until the start of the game, which will be televised by ESPN at 11 a.m.

FROM THE FIELD

Eli Stove looks like he's moving around pretty good early this morning. He was out with the first warmup group with the skill players. Definitely a good sign to see him out there right away today. To go along with what Phillip said, I think he should be good to go based on just watching him running around a few minutes ago.

Another player dressed today is redshirt freshman linebacker Octavius Brothers. He's here and going through warmups with the team this morning. Doesn't hurt for the Tigers to have another linebacker available. Also dressed again is redshirt freshman running back Payton Anderson from Fyffe. The third workout group is on the field and Austin Troxell is here. Missed him the first time around. That's good news for the Tigers.

Working with the return groups today are Christian Tutt, Eli Stove and Mark-Antony Richards with punts. On kickoffs it's Tank Bigsby, Ladarius Tennison, DJ Williams, Kobe Hudson and Devan Barrett. Shaun Shivers is here, but he's not out with the return guys.

First sighting of Jaylin Simpson. He's dressed and working with the defensive backs getting loose. Also dressed with juco corner Marco Domio. He's in uniform today. It is good to see Jordyn Peters on the field as well after being hurt up last week. He is moving well in warmups.

Eli Stove was the first wide receiver up to throw with the quarterbacks. Malcolm Johnson is here and dressed along with walk-on Jackson McFadden. No Ja'Varrius Johnson with the group today. Shaun Shivers is on the field and working with the running backs.

Seems like we're all healthy minus Britt and some limited guys. No excuses.

FYI - Seth still has ankle issues - better this week but not 100%

Sit him tbh. Schwartz proved he can be WR1 Seth needs to heal up.

Haven’t beaten us in 87 years. Hopefully that streak continues.

Gus has absolutely blown almost every statistical measurement like this in his time year.
