I know when S. Cooper was out he still went to the home games....has anyone seen Justin at any of the home games????

He’s bothered by lights and noise.

@tigerman1186 Therefore unlikely.

since this is about injuries does anyone think other than me sharife is taking a pounding by other teams to take him out of his game? i still think kentucky was trying to hurt or at the least intimidate him.

@aubiefifty Not just you. The announcers have been saying it in games. Main reason he needs to get stronger.

I was worried he had seriously hurt his elbow the last two games.

Kentucky did the same thing with Barkley years ago, although they were more likely just hoping to provoke him.

Wear him down physically.

It's only natural to get physical with a guy that excels in a fast pace style of game. It's nothing personal that's how you play quick guys.  Small quick guys you bang on them over and over. Wear them down, make them hesitate, slow the pace of the game. Take away the easy transition points.

This is another reason having a nice little jumper is imperative. This is exactly what they will do in the NBA.

Sounds like migraines. I can’t function on the rare occasion I get them.

I mean at this point you just hope Powell can recover and doesn’t have lasting effects from this.

Yeah, get well first and only after 100% recovery play BB. Its just a game, and I know he wants to play, but a degree in Engineering or something will get you paid pretty well, too. No need to endanger your life for a sport

I think this about ends the Justin Powell watch for this season. It is a shame because it would have been a lot of fun seeing Powell and Coop play together and run the offense. I really wanted to see how Coop played off the ball. He is so ball dominate right now because he has to be but I wanted to see what his game looked like playing off the ball a bit. If nothing else it would have given him a chance to practice his 3 ball more.

Really hope Powell is able to take it easy and get his head right. I have to think it’s pretty rare for a hit like Powell took to cause such extended problems. Hopefully they really check him out and make sure there is not something else going on up there.

Great points, and I suspect he is getting expert care.

FWIW an insider on the bunker says there was a stretch where he couldn’t even walk without getting dizzy or blacking out. He is struggling. This isn’t his first concussion and the other bad one was from the back of the head too when he was in high school.

Feel so bad for JP. I just want him to get healthy for his quality of life at this point.

100% agree - even if that means dropping out of his classes this semester to spend time with a specialist. He needs to get himself 100% healthy for his future.

Kid might need to pack up and go home for a month.  I cannot imagine the stress he is under in the classroom and you know he wants to get on the court.  That stress does not help him get better.

Agree.  The florescent lighting in the classrooms probably aren't helping much either.

Yeah, he may not be back. He also has quite the history of injuries. CP needs to hit the recruiting trail

Every time I see CP the first thing that comes to mind is Chuck Person.

From an insider on the bunker FWIW, he was at practice this week. Not practicing but he was there. That’s an improvement that he could even go watch for a short time.

Fantastic news that he has improved enough to go watch. With how severe this concussion was I am more worried about his long term health then his playing basketball. My prayers are with him.

I think the biggest thing for him has been the compound of concussions. He had at least one similar like it in high school.
