Bryan Matthews was asked on a radio show today to list 3 coaches to keep an eye on for AU. He listed Rhule, Grimes and Freeze in no particular order.

I like the possibility of hiring Fickell.  He already has experience in fixing a program mangled by a former AU head coach and should do wonders with the actual AU program itself that Malzahn and Harsin screwed up.

Neither did Saban or Urban before they went to LSU and Florida.

Harsin being bad should not be a strike against other, better coaches.

I guess, but maybe it's because we got bit that I'm just worried about the no experience thing but if we tried on him I wouldn't hate it I would just worry.

There is not nearly enough concrete evidence to say they can. But it is a great question to have?

The worry with Luke has always been would he go to one of the power 5 Big ten schools? Iono

He has built a steady program at Cincy, however. He is a midwest guy though. Doesn't mean he wouldn't come down here if there price was right.

For what it's worth, he's got twelve or so players from Florida, Georgia, and Tennessee, so he has at least modest experience in our immediate footprint.  And I didn't include the handful of guys from Kentucky (or the punter from Australia).
