I know it is a joke but i would still love to see pols be real role models and care more about the country than space lasers and arguing than helping the country. when a former pres tells the right not to pass a border security bill so biden will not look good is what is wrong with america.

The population growth issue is something that gets close to no attention, yet it impacts economic growth in a major way.  We aren't the first major country to deal with it, but it is something we have never had to deal with before.

The Answer is basically "Any problem that doesn't have any easy solutions, doesn't get people worked up, and isn't causing an immediate crisis". 

 

Only time the US government will work to solve a big problem is if it's already too late or has just caused some sort of catastrophe.

worker shortages: military, cops, nurses, doctors, air traffic controllers, teachers, etc etc etc

social security 

And many, many more. No plans for fixing any of these things
