Thanks Tommy Tuberville...

We have been remiss to Coach Tuberville. Being folks raised in the South, we were always taught to say please and thank you. Southerners are taught from birth that the worst thing you can be is impolite. In Southern Society, you can cuss a man, so long as you tell him “Bless your heart!” before you finish with the tongue lashing.

Coach, we in the AU Family have forgotten our manners. Please forgive US.

Coach, from the bottom of our hearts, thanks for the job you have done so well. You built and now lead a program that many seek to emulate. We have players going to glasses, no matter what a certain disgruntled old curmudgeon may say. We have players that graduate. We have players that go on to excel after graduation. You, Sir, have built a program that builds young men of character, not just “win at all costs” thugs.

Coach Tuberville, we, the Auburn Family, see the success you and your staff have built here and we are truly grateful. We know you are busy with game prep, interviews, and the like, but the Auburn Family would like to tell you about how we know how successful you are.

In interacting with fans from other schools, we see how they respond to you and to us. Most of our rivals are truly in awe of what you have done for Auburn. The level of play, the success of the team, etc. is borne out in the ways outsiders talk and interact with the AU family. They pay us complements on our program. They often cheer us on after their own chances have failed. We are having better relations with almost all of the SEC schools. We even hear begrudging respect from our oldest enemies. All these things tell us loud and clear that you are definitely on the right path. Nothing warms the hearts of the older AU fans as seeing respect that has been earned being given to the University, the team, and the AU Family we love so much.

There is another side to all this too. You see, this is my real reason for writing. The more success we see on the field, the more exaggerated some of our rivals become. Somehow, "more exaggerated' just does not sound right. How about "Comical, Twisted" or maybe even downright "Silly?"

Coach, without boring you with the infinite details, stories, and anecdotes, some of our rivals have come to absurd grandiose conspiracy theories on how those Auburn Tigers are winning.

It is almost daily drivel from the Crimson Kool-Aid crowd that there is an NCAA investigation underway, going on, about to break, etc. We read so many during the summer that I think even the most immature of AU fans finally just started to read the accusations for their comic content. There has been a rumor for every player that the "Wearers of Dark Pink" can actually spell or pronounce.

"Cox is ill!"

"Irons Brothers arrested."

"Irons brothers failing out of school!"

"Blackmon bought with cash!"

"Georgia is about to turn Auburn in to the NCAA" has run for almost three consecutive years now.

"Academic Fraud at Auburn?"

Innumerable smears of ChetteWillams, and his ministries. How many times have we been told, "Coach Tuberville is taking the HC job at Miami, Texas A&M, and the Dallas Cowboys?" That is right, Coach you must be a greatest Coach ever because the latest rumors have you being HC in three different jobs next year!!!

Thanks Coach. You have restored character, success, and a little swagger back at Auburn. You have also now moved the entire AU Family to the point where we do not even care what our bigger rivals are upto, unless they are the next game.

Thanks Coach for all you, your staff, and your players have done for Auburn University, the AU Family, and Alumni.
