"At the time, I was young and dumb and had no sense, so I went to Auburn"

It was a crack. Making a joke. I bear no ill will for that comment. He followed it up with a compliment toward Dye. No problem there.

I'm glad to see Auburn guys all over coaching. Rocker at Arkansas, Fisher at FSU, Middleton at Bama :puke:

Glad you bear no ill will. Lots of Auburn fans might. Boy, he has no problem with burning bridges, does he?

I am like G2 and read it as a joke. If you read the whole thing, then you have to put it in context in which he was making the comment. He was being asked what would he tell a recruit the reason he went to Auburn instead of UG with him being from Georgia, so that was his remark. Just a couple of sentences later, he did say that Auburn was the right fit for him. He is working for UG now, so what was he supposed to say? It would be different if he went as far as to trash Auburn, but instead he make an "off the cuff" remark that is meant to be funny and not taken seriously.

Also, a transcript probably does the comment no justice since you can't see him laughing or smiling about it.
