DAVOS, Switzerland -- U.S. Sen. John Kerry is taking aim at the Bush administration's foreign policy, saying it's caused the U.S. to become "a sort of international pariah."

At a forum in Switzerland, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee said the Bush administration has failed to adequately address a number of foreign policy issues, including AIDS in Africa and global warming.

He said a U.S. failure to live up to its own rhetoric and standards sends "a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy." Kerry said, as a result, the U.S. faces a "crisis of confidence" throughout the world.

Kerry said the government should be using diplomacy to improve national security. He also criticized what he said is the "unfortunate habit" of Americans to see the world "exclusively through an American lens."

Kerry calls USA international pariah

DAVOS, Jan. 27.— Massachusetts Senator Mr John Kerry slammed the foreign policy of the Bush administration today, saying it has caused the US to become “a sort of international pariah.” The statement came as the Democrat lawmaker responded to a question about whether the US government had failed to adequately engage Ira’s government before the election of hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in 2005. Senator Kerry said the Bush administration has failed to adequately address a number of foreign policy issues, speaking during a World Economic Forum panel discussion that also included Iraqi Vice-President Adil Abd al-Mahdi and Mohammad Khatami. John Kerry With the Enemies of America

The man who was almost president shares a stage in Davos, Switzerland, with a rogue’s gallery of enemies, including the former president of Iran and his Iraqi puppet.

Nearly beyond belief. But this is John F. Kerry, doing what he does—giving aid and comfort to the enemies of America during wartime.

Tigermike, still doing what he wants with Kerry. B)

Since you only took the time to make left handed derogatory remark about me, but didn't comment on the article, it's safe to say you agree with Kerry? And why not? After all Kerry is only saying what the vast majority of dimocrats are thinking and saying.

Lighten up, buddy. I didn't read the whole article-- just enough to get the flavor-- and my comment was not intended as derogatory-- it was a joke. You like slapping Kerry around. Fine. Simply recognizing that isn't negative. Alot of "columnists" have feasted on Kerry for some time. Looks like they're not through yet. Doesn't bother me.

And doing it out of ignorance, too. However, this is typical Tigermike bait. First things first, though.

...it's safe to say you agree with Kerry?

Don't know about TexasTiger, but, I saw nothing that was factually innacurate in what he said.

What is a 'pariah?' Merriam-Webster says it's "one that is despised or rejected." It's kind of hard to argue that. On 9/12/2001, the vast majority of the entire world bent over backwards to support us. Going into Afghanistan, hardly a peep of opposition was heard. Going into Iraq was totally opposite and has been ever since.

At a forum in Switzerland, the 2004 Democratic presidential nominee said the Bush administration has failed to adequately address a number of foreign policy issues, including AIDS in Africa and global warming.

Hard to argue this, either. Bush's 'Roadmap to Peace' was DOA shortly after it was introduced. Middle Eastern policy as a whole is a farce. In fact, the sum of his foreign policy seems to be, "Do what I want or else."

He said a U.S. failure to live up to its own rhetoric and standards sends "a terrible message of duplicity and hypocrisy." Kerry said, as a result, the U.S. faces a "crisis of confidence" throughout the world.

True. Think Guantanamo, Abu Ghraib, Jose Padilla, the use of rendition, etc, etc, etc. Bush said the terrorists hate us for our freedoms...

Kerry said the government should be using diplomacy to improve national security. He also criticized what he said is the "unfortunate habit" of Americans to see the world "exclusively through an American lens."

True. Anyone who's ever been overseas will confirm this. We expect visitors to America to speak English or make do while we expect French, Germans, Italians, etc. to speak English and accomodate us when we're in their country. If you really believe that the terrorists simply 'hate us for our freedoms', then you might be looking at the problem through an 'American lens.'

Since none of this was in your links I must assume that it's your writing/opinion. Regardless, it shows the utter ignorance of whoever wrote it as far as Khatami and Iran are concerned. First, Khatami was the most Westernized, pro-West 'leader' Iran has had since the Shah. Second, the president in Iran has very limited power. The Ayotollah is the supreme leader leaving the president with slightly more authority than the Queen of England. Third, you turned these relatively straightforward news articles into one of your typical hate Kerry, hate Democrats hit pieces. Why didn't you list who else was at the conference in Switzerland besides your little 'rogues gallery?' Is Tony Blair now giving aid and comfort? Sens. Kay Bailey Hutchison, Saxby Chambliss, Trent Lott and Mel Martinez? Secretaries Michael Chertoff and Elaine Chow and/or Paul Wolfowitz?

Did they take the opportunity to slam the US? Nope. Only your boy Kerry. The one you defend at every turn. The one you wanted to be President.

Were any of those people in the picture? No. That's pretty lame, even for you. There were probably several hundred other people at the conference as well why didn't you list them?

I don't hate John Kerry, I despise him for being the mealy mouthed liar that he is. But I thank him for continuing to run his mouth. He continues the great PR for the dims.

What the former Democrat nominee for President was saying.

John Kerry: I was against Iran's Nuclear program before I was for it

This was John Kerry just one year and two weeks or so ago:

"Ultimately if we are not able to find any diplomatic resolution in the next weeks I don't think we have any choice but to take it to the international community. I think Iran has made a very dangerous and a very silly decision and it is inviting confrontation not with the United States but with the global community that cares enormously about the control of nuclear weapons."

This is John Kerry now:

http://english.farsnews.com/newstext.php?nn=8511080271

Addressing a world Economic Forum meeting in Davos Switzerland on Saturday, Kerry also strongly rejected West's demanded prerequisites for the resumption of nuclear talks with Iran.

Kerry, whose remarks followed a speech by Iran's former President Seyed Mohammad Khatami, stated his support for Khatami's views, and said Americans find out - only when they are outside their country - that the world is different from what they imagine.

"We should give up pessimism and pick up a realistic view," he said, and further stressed the need for the US to change its policies towards the world countries and issues.

The US politician also approved of Khatami's views about increased tension and violence in the world, and concluded, "As Mr. Khatami said, violence increased in the region after the occupation of Afghanistan, Iraq and Bin Ladenism."

Let there be little doubt on three things.

The evidence for a divine being who loves us is found when examining the fact that John Kerry was not elected President of the United States.

John Kerry is an ass-hat.

Al will defend Kerry at every opportunity.
