Auburn coach Tony Barbee talks contract, recruiting and attrition

AUBURN, Alabama -- Auburn men's basketball coach Tony Barbee said there are no major hurdles to formally signing his contract and it could be done in a matter of days.

He also said he would continue trying to improve the roster throughout the summer and that while attrition from last year's squad is inevitable, it hadn't occurred yet.

Barbee chatted with a small group of reporters for a few minutes this morning at the Auburn Arena.

The attrition comment is interesting. Any guesses?

I really think that Ty Armstrong is going to be part of that attrition. It was almost like he was forced to play last year when he was not 100%. Another candidate might be Chubb since he was arrested last year, but he showed alot of improvement. I think it would be a tough choice after one of those two. I would have expected there to be some news of someone transferring, etc by now if someone was getting "cut".
