Sunday is quiet period, Monday till Thursday are dead period.

January 31: Quiet Period

February 1-4: Dead Period. [Note: Feb. 3 is "national signing day," the first day that recruits can sign a National Letter of Intent for their school of choice.]

February 5-April 14 Quiet Period

During a dead period, coaches cannot:

    Make in-person recruiting contacts

    Conduct in-person evaluations -- on or off-campus

    Schedule official campus visits

    Allow unofficial campus visits

    Offer complimentary tickets to games

The only permissible communications during a dead period are phone calls (limited by NCAA regulations to one call per week) and correspondence.

Today (1/30/10) is the last day coaches can be off campus for visits. Tomorrow (1/31) the coaches can visit with recruits only on campus. They may telephone them anytime. Starting Monday (2/1) it goes into dead time where a coach cannot have face contact on or off campus but may call them.
