Differences between BLM protests & the violent riot at the U.S. Capitol building

The BLM protest in DC was June 2, one week after the protests in Minneapolis for George Floyd.  The rioting prompted the DC Police and National Guard to be present. On January 6th, evidently the DC Police/DC Mayor didn’t have the feeling the protest would erupt into violence.  As seen by the preparation for the inaugural, we could compare the the June 2, BLM protest to the Jan 20th protest (if any) to draw a better comparison.
