Howell singles to lead it off.

Hill with a hard hit ball but a nice play by the 2B to catch it. Howell then steals 2nd. Pitch was low and then looked like the catcher just froze.

Carlson flies out but it's deep enough for Howell to tag and go to 3rd. Moore pops up to SS, though to end the inning.

3-0 Auburn T4th

Parker Carlson coming on in relief of Mullins. 3 scoreless innings for Mullins but had over 60 pitches as he struggled with his control.

Ground out and strikeout before giving up a 3-1 walk. Follows that up with giving up a single. Runners on 1st and 2nd with 2 outs. A lineout gets him out of the jam.

Dyal, Ware, Foster coming up!

3-0 Auburn B4th

Rambusch singles and then advances to 2nd on a passed ball. 4 pitch walk for Howell and runners on 1st and 2nd, 0 outs.

Wild pitch and everyone moves up.

HILL WITH A SINGLE! Rambusch and Howell both score. Those wild pitches/passed balls coming through to bite Rhode Island.

5-1 Auburn!

Howell pops up on the 1st pitch.

Hill walks on a 3-1 count. Carlson with a 3-2 walk. Another 3-1 walk to Moore to load the bases. MIght get real ugly and I'm not sure how many more pitchers Rhode Island has.

New pitcher and he was the starter for Rhode Island on Friday. Has a 10+ ERA.

Edit: Listening to the announcers and statbroadcast, both said it was Twitchell pitching but it wasn't.

Nothing to thump our chests over. But should be a confidence builder just the same

We went 6-0 in 5 days. And scored 78 runs while only giving up 11 runs. It might have only been Rhode Island, Alabama State, and UAB but that's still pretty damn good no matter the opponent.

And I have seen Auburn baseball teams who would not have swept those 6 games. So there is that too.

Okay, so why the need to try to downplay a 6 game sweep where we dominated? Just a weird thing for you to say in your first post in this thread.

Why would the pitcher try a pickoff?  There is no way we would steal with a 13 run lead.  Guess it’s a learning experience.  Unnecessary post on my part but seemed odd …

No idea. It's about as bad as South Carolina double-teaming Chase and Preston yesterday in the basketball game when there was only about 20 seconds left.
