Alabama fan helps old lady cross street equals "Represents Alabama". Alabama fan gives can of beans to food center equals "Represents Alabama". Alabama fan poisons trees in Auburn in the hopes of ruining a rich tradition does not  equal "Represents Alabama". I don't get it. Good = "Represents Alabama", Bad <> "Represents Alabama"

Not disagreeing that they are the worst fans in the world, because they are, but horse incident I couldn't find on that page, the Iron Bowl stabbing comes from Bleacher Report (not a very reliable source) and Curtis Sims is from Richland County SC (so the whole thing could've had nothing to do with Alabama vs. SC as the man who pushed the guy in front of the truck was probably an SC fan). The other three things are absolutely appauling. Damn Turds.

"But Mr. D.A., I admit I did make the call to the PFBN and the Auburn professor regarding the trees being poisoned and I went as far as to name the chemical that you in fact found in the ground but, I did not poisoned those trees, Roll Tide"...

I know we have some dany's as well.....Just not NEARLY as many. The "fringe element" at AU is just that......However, the "fringe" is quickly becomeing the majority across the state.

When I was at the BCS national championship game.  I was talking with a duck fan.  He was telling me how great Auburn fans had been all week and then he said,  " we thought you were going to be like bama fans". We can sit here all day long and say "well...every side has crazies....." but they are nationally know as being terrible.

It's pretty bad when folks from the west coast know what to expect from the bammers.

Classless bammers are ruining the rest of the nations perception of SEC fans and the south in general.

I was at Auburn during the time of the IB stabbing.  Happened at the Phi Kappa Tau house I believe.  Definitely happened though.

Then let's go with what we KNOW to be fact.  This is a portion of a post I had in another thread.

"I realize that not all bama fans are this way, but just this year, we have had to suffer through Scam Newton t-shirts, fake money being thrown at our players during the Iron Bowl, songs being played in Bryant Denny Stadium meant to disparage one of our players, images from bama's own bowl game, showing their fans with signs stating "Roll Ducks Roll", and now the poisoning of the trees.  For so many bama fans I know that have told me that they feel really bad about what happened to the trees, I can't help but wonder how they feel about these other issues, and if they feel so bad about all of them, why are they fans at all?  Honestly, I think most of them feel bad due to the negative image that the nation is finally seeing about the University of Alabama.  We have lived with it for decades, but whenever we tried to bring it up to anyone, we appeared jealous or unsportsmanlike."

They truly are the worst fans in the world, except maybe those soccer fans in South America that kill their players for not winning.

I saw in another thread where someone claimed that this type of hatred has always been there, but the availability of social media, internet, etc. have just made it more visible.

I tend to disagree -- hence my posting in the possibilty of suspending the Iron Bowl temporarily. I do believe that the internet, twitter, facebook, whatever HAVE played a huge part in what we're seeing today. But instead of thinking that it just gives an outlet for the demented few, I think that it has created an environment where people who obviously take their hatred of Auburn of Auburn to the extreme have found others of a like mind. These people were too cowardly to take any action on their own, but they feel emboldened by the fact that they have found so many others with with the same (lack of) moral values and ideas.

Just look at the message boards (not this one). People are feeding off of each other's hatred, creating wild rumors in an attempt to destroy other universities, and the effect is that people are starting to think it's OK to go to extreme measures because so many of their kind will approve of it. I hate to stereotype people, but you don't need to look very far to see where this type of behavior is most accepted. I only hope that this will be an isolated incident, though i really think it is just the beginning of worse things to come.

This definitely happened! although I am one of the few Auburn fans lat view his response as justified. I would have done the same thing had I been in his place. He walked past the Frat house and yelled "Roll Tide" and he was attacked by 20 people. he then fled down the street and his attackers continued to pursue him so he pulled a knife and defended himself.
