kbtiger151345162906 0
Auburn puts an 8 spot up in the 1st, chases UGA's starter. Shades of the 2010 team. I would've told Slade this at the beginning of the game, but even more so now. Just pitch like your giving us 3 innings, give us everything you've got. We have Blatt, Ray, Hendrix, Ortman, Wallen all ready to go. I think Slade struggles when he pitches like he's getting stretched out, but does much better in relief. It's clear that the pressure is on UGA today, we're playing with house money and its showing.
kbtiger151345162906 0
Slade works through the 2nd without giving up a hit. Pressure's off Slade just keep getting outs.

kbtiger151345162906 0
UGA has bases loaded and 1 out. Slade's first trouble of the day, see if he can limit the damage.

kbtiger151345162906 0
Slade gets through the 5th unscathed. Auburn 8 UGA 1 I'd let him start the 6th, but have a guy up in the bullpen, this is traditionally when he begins to struggle.

kbtiger151345162906 0
Auburn gets a run back in the 5th. Hargett doubles home Wacker. Auburn 9 UGA 1 Slade is starting his 3rd time through the lineup, gotta think he's on a short leash.
Tigerbelle 5,299
9 - 1 AU top of the 6th. A very comfortable lead against a team that's not hitting well. I'd leave Slade Smith in, and let him work out of any jams he may get himself into, because he needs the confidence. He needs to know he can work thru those bad spots. We need pitchers who believe in themselves right now.
kbtiger151345162906 0
Slade gives up a walk and a 2B to lead off the 6th then a 2 run homer. I think you gotta get Slade here. 9-4 Auburn lead.
kbtiger151345162906 0
Wow, Slade comes back and strikes out the next 3 batters, 9-4 going into the bottom of the 6th. I'll stop speculating on when we should pull him. Great job there.
