All-SEC: Where they stood as recruits

Thanks for posting that, very interesting.

So there are two five star players on that list and one of them probably should not be. Clowney may be the most talented dude in football but he did not have an all-SEC year last year. I know there are not many five star players every year but there were certainly more than 2 five star recruits playing in the SEC last year. That's a lot of three star or no star listed players.

People who make a hobby out of following recruiting closely are not comfortable reading things like this.

Very telling information. Star ratings are great for the scrapbook. when dealing with 18-19 year olds the true telling is a year or two away from signing day. Continued growth and coaching is so important 2-3* take a little time to develope but can bevome a4-5* as a JR. That said a class of 4-5* athletes still brings greater potential.

I agree that the star ratings are over emphasized. But would anyone turn down a five star commitment? There is a big difference between HS and college and obviously some five stars don't hack it in college and some three stars do better. Same goes for college to pro. In the recent Super Bowl, there were only four players who were HS five stars.
