Ball game. Final 8-1 Samford. We fall to 19-11 overall, 5-4 SEC, heading to Oxford for a pretty important series to gain back some momentum heading into the meat of the schedule. Disappointing loss tonight, nothing going right for the tigers. Still struggling with hitting not only with runners in scoring position but even with just plain old hitting with runners on base. 4 errors in the field for us as well tonight; hopefully, this team will get it turned around.

Samford has been a pain for us for several years now. Casey Dunn will be some big school's coach one day in the near future. I was hoping we'd hire him last year, but that didn't happen and Coach Galloway is our guy now and deserves full support.

Another fine Auburn man and former player, Q.V. Lowe, coached at AUM for his entire career. He always said the only way he'd leave there would be to go to Auburn but the decades passes and Q.V. never got the call. Sad, in a way.

The worst part of this game was the 4 errors. Our defense is, frankly, pathetic. That must be addressed immediately if we have any notions of post-season play.

JMO but Thomsha needs to just DH and keep him off the field for now. The guy is a good athlete but a liability at 3rd...Guess CSG was going to give him a chance to redeem himself in a non-critical game...but that sure did not play out well.
