Tiger 8,498
Awesome stat! They snuck Cam in there, I know the thread is RBU but the graphic says "An Auburn player". The debate of should Cam be considered a RB will rage on. JMO: He's a quarterback. He has never take a single hand-off. AuburnNTexas 6,257
Don't worry about CAM bottom line is Auburn by far has had most SEC leading rushers then any other SEC School. AURex 1,447
I think this is an accurate list of Auburn's SEC-leading rushers by year. If I've made an error, please correct me. Joe Childress (1954) Fob James (1955) Tommy Lorino (1956) Jimmy Sidle (1963) Terry Henley (1972) Joe Cribbs (1976) James Brooks (1979) Bo Jackson (1985) Brent Fullwood (1986) James Bostic (1993) Stephen Davis (1995) Rudi Johnson (2000) Cadillac Williams (2004) Kenny Irons (2005) Cam Newton (2010) Tre Mason (2013) Cameron Artis-Payne (2014) Note that there are now 17 in the list. Both Jimmy Sidle and Cam Newton were QBs, but they led the SEC in rushing. Jimmy Sidle was on the cover of Sports Illustrated proclaiming "The Year of the Running Back" even though he was a QB. Auburnfan91 1,302
Thanks for the list of our SEC leading rushers. Does anyone happen to have or know where I can get a complete list of our 1000 yard rushers? Here's a link to the 2014 Auburn media guide: http://grfx.cstv.com.../prospectus.pdf .............. The career rushing list is on page 155. For some reason the 2014 media guide doesn't give a complete list of Auburn's 1000 yard rushers. I happen to have a physical copy of the 2008 Auburn Football media guide and the 2014 list cuts off at Tom Bryan who had 1144 rushing yards. Yet, from the 2008 media guide I have, the list goes down to Charlie Hataway who had 1055 yards. I'm not sure why the 2014 list doesn't include those who were below Tom Bryan. If you take my 2008 media guide list and update it with the 2014 media guide list, Auburn had 39 1,000 yard rushers going into the 2014 season, instead of only 35 that were listed in the 2014 media guide. After the 2014 season, Cameron-Artis Payne and Corey Grant both passed the 1,000 yard career rushing yard mark. So right now, going into the 2015 season, Auburn has had 41 1,000 yard rushers with the two more players added to the list. I actually have a copy of all the 1,000 yards rushers. I made it just a few mintues ago. If anyone want's to see my 'unofficial' updated complete list that may or may not be accurate, let me know, and I'll gladly post it on here. drush 31
Thanks Auburnfan91 that is great. I had no idea we had that many. I knew there were a lot, especially of late. Auburnfan91 1,302
Sure, no problem. I actually had some fun going through all the stats so the list would be up to date. I basically just pulled the 2014 list and added in the players who were listed in the 2008 media guide that weren't listed in the 2014 media guide. Then, finally, I took Cameron Artis-Payne and Corey Grants career stats and put them where they would be ranked on the list according to the total rushing yards they had. I actually noticed an error in the 2014 Auburn media guide for the rankings of the career rushing records in the link I posted the other day. They put Mario Fannin at #31 ahead of Mitzi Jackson but Mitzi Jackson had a few more total rushing yards than Fannin, so Mitzi Jackson should have been #31. I corrected that on the list I made. 1. Bo Jackson........................ 1982-85, 650 attempts, 6.62 avg. 4303 yards 2. Carnell Williams .............2001-04, 741 attempts, 5.17 avg. 3831 yards 3.
