Yes. We need to reverse course and, go back to the road we were on before barry was elected. You know, the good old Bush years. War, creating terrorists, financial markets collapsing, losing 800.000 jobs per month, double the debt, no illegals and refugees. Good times! All hail "conservatism"!

Sociol programs is socialism an ever buddy nose that there is bad. You libtards is part of the red menice. We need us some more a that there trickle down economics.

No, I dont think i want to waste even a nano-second of my life watching some mind-numbed-bot explain the un-explainable.

Thanks for trying tho, but Jeb was an absolute no-go from day one.

This has got to be one of the most hilarious examples of playing fast and loose with history I've seen since I've been here. You must think we're morons. It hasn't even been a decade.

And please, spare me the "I never liked the guy" schtick or how "he was the lesser of two evils" yadda yadda. You all voted for him because you thought he was PLENTY conservative enough.

You've all turned against him now because he ended up being exposed as a clown in the end. But as long as he was riding high, you were all in love with the guy. In fact, I've never seen a president so ferociously defended as Bush during his term. There were times I thought I was going to have to get in fights just for leveling the tiniest of criticisms at him.

So please, stop with the revisionist history.

I'd say the hypocritical defenses of Clinton by feminists and the last eight years of defending Obama against virtually any criticism are right up there with it. Clarence Thomas wasn't fit for the SCOTUS over a sexual harassment claim yet Bill Clinton could use his power and position to chase, charm/coerce and have sex with women left and right and virtually an entire movement develops laryngitis or offers only the mildest of critiques.

The food stamp program is the nation’s second largest means-tested welfare program; its costs have risen from $20.7 billion in 2000 to $83.1 billion in 2014. Contributing to this rapid expansion is the enrollment of able-bodied adults without dependents, which has risen from nearly 2 million in 2008 to around 4.7 million today. Benefits to these individuals and related administrative expenses cost the taxpayers around $10.5 billion per year. Welfare should not be a one-way handout. In keeping with the success of both the 1990s welfare reform and Maine’s recent food stamp work requirement, the U.S. government should require constructive behavior from able-bodied recipients in exchange for benefits. Specifically, able-bodied adult food stamp recipients without dependents should be required to take a job, prepare for work, perform community service, or at a minimum search for employment in exchange for aid and assistance at the taxpayers’ expense. This reform would save taxpayers $9.7 billion per year.
One group that has significantly increased its participation in the food stamp program is “able-bodied adults without dependents” (ABAWDs). Under the federal definition, an individual is considered an “able-bodied adult without dependents” if he or she is between 18 and 49 years of age, is not caring for a child under age 18 or residing in a household with a child under age 18, is not physically or mentally disabled, and is not pregnant. ABAWDs gained notoriety in August 2013, when Fox News aired a documentary on food stamps featuring 29-year-old Jason Greenslate, a California resident who reported that he spends his time surfing and playing in his rock band, all the while receiving benefits from the food stamp program.[7]

Heck "MILDEST OF CRITIQUES" is itself a stretch.

Black Man, Bill Cosby, molests women,...destroyed publicly even though there hasnt actually been a court case so far.

White Man, Bill Clinton, molests women,...is constantly defended even after having to admit that it was all true, UNLESS IT "ALL DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR DEFINITION OF WHAT THE WORD IS, IS" and that he sent his attack dog minions out to proclaim "THE VAST RIGHT WING CONSPIRACY" (a more :bs: term has never been used in American politics) was behind it all. "VAST ______ CONSPIRACY" is still a punchline to many jokes to this day.

This deserves special attention. Perhaps the dumbest, most disingenuous post in the history of this forum.

Bush is the quintessential modern conservative. You all know the type. They are easily identified by the trail of red ink flowing from their tax cut and spend policies.

Neoconservative and conservative or not the same.

It is like a "mirror-mirror" version of classical conservatism, but it is what conservatism in America has unfortunately become. The conservatism of Edmund Burke and Barry Goldwater is now a minority compared to the neocons.

I'm not particularly interested in comparing Bush, Clinton or Obama but unless you were a liberal (or expressed a contrary conservative view and were thus labeled a RINO) during Bush's term you were not receiving the brunt of the vitriol. Criticize the war in Iraq? "Why do you support terrorism?" Criticize the presidents's speech making ability? "Why do you hate America?" So on and so forth. Seriously, the dichotomous thinking from the right from the period was hilarious, starting with Bush himself with his "either you're with us or against us rhetoric."

I find the attempt from some conservatives to distance themselves from Bush, a president they unanimously supported, by accusing him of being a liberal hilarious. Negationism at its finest.
