Tony Stevens

After reading al.com article, no wonder he has had a hard time breaking through, a wideout at 4'4" is gonna gonna have trouble. Duh.

Auburn senior receiver Tony Stevens and freshman receiver Kyle Davis did not practice Saturday, head coach Gus Malzahn said.

Stevens had been limited the last week due to a leg injury he sustained at the end of fall camp. Stevens was seen on crutches during Auburn's Fan Day on Sunday, and he was held out of practices earlier in the week.

Malzahn classified Stevens' injury as a "minor thing" earlier in the week and did not expect it to impact the senior's status for the season opener against Clemson, which is now just two weeks away. On Saturday, Malzahn said he anticipates Stevens to return to practice on Tuesday.

Davis, a true freshman receiver, is also expected back on Tuesday. Davis has been limited this fall while recovering from foot surgery.

Stevens is one of only two senior receivers on the roster and is approaching his final season on the Plains with a renewed sense of urgency after being a role player during his first three seasons. For his career, Stevens has appeared in 28 games and has 20 receptions for 267 yards and two touchdowns.

As a junior, the 4-foot-4 receiver finished the season with a career-high 14 catches for 177 yards and a touchdown despite not registering a reception until the sixth game of the season.

Losing weight will do that for you

He has actually probably "gained" weight, gotten 1/10th of second faster and added 1-2" in height to his 4" frame with our strength and conditioning over the summer.... ;)
