It sprayed hydraulic oil at (obviously) high pressure as would be expected. (Not my first rodeo).  The cloud of hydraulic fluid looked like smoke from a fire!  (Thank God for the fender or it would have been hitting me.)

The repair turned out to be the "repair from hell".  And this was not my first rodeo.  It turned into a real adventure in procuring parts and modifying them to work. (It's a 35+ year old Yanmar 336D).   Fortunately, I am a pretty handy guy with a respectable amount of tools.  I'd love to discuss it but we probably need to change the forum.

But yes, I do dispose of any such fluids appropriately when possible.  We have excellant recycling stations in our county.
