Not politics but good article on Auburn astronauts. Mattingly was an AE and NROTC classmate and long time friend of mine and Hartsfield was also a  good friend. They flew together on Shuttle flight #4, the only flight ever where all the astronauts were grads of the same school. Mattingly was also the star of the movie Apollo 13 played by Gary Sinese. I lived thru that mission with Mattingly as he was almost a one man show in Mission Control in bringing the crew home safely by controlling the power available.
