Didba 5,256
Check out the 00 personnel scheme and the routes being ran on Holden's drive. This stuff is what I envisioned when Harsin talked about his scheme when he first came here along with the TE heavy sets. I swear I have not seen this type of offensive scheme at Auburn for 15 years or more. So when I have stated in the past part of the reason I am so high on Harsin is his NFL type Offensive scheme this is the stuff I am on about + the heavy TE sets. CCTAU 3,328
I still felt he had an allergic reaction to the left side of the field. I know. Baby steps. He looked really good for a guy that just showed up on campus.
Tiger1992 999
That throw on 4th & 8 at the 2:15 mark is oh so pretty.
Cardin Drake 1,837
I'm seeing a QB who knows where his open receiver is and gets rid of the ball quickly. Mobile to boot. I'll be surprised if he is not starting soon.
rexbo 104
If the offensive game plan is to flood the short routes with our 3 dozen TEs, we're going to nickel and dime our way down the field and end up with lots of FGs. My gut tells me we are going to lose a number of close games this year from kicking FGs instead of punching it in. We're going to have to find an explosive receiver, like KC had with Tyreek Hill to balance out Kelce, or we are going to have to figure out some really crafty goal line plays. I thought KC over the past few years had done a fantastic job coming up with high percentage goal line plays, but that's what cost them against Cincinnati in the playoffs. 1

I tend to agree, but it was A Day and near the end of the game. A lot of timing routes, but IF this is the desired offense, to Rexbo's point, if we can't stretch the field with talented outside receivers, then you do get a lot of bogging down. You can't make too much out of it either way, bad or good. It was a chance for the guy deepest on the depth chart to get some throws and he probably had a limited playbook he had practiced with. I think once you get inside the ten you have to switch into 13 personnel to force the defense to commit linebackers onto the field to stop the run heavy formations and the pass to a tightend on a delayed block route whose matched up on a LBer. That was our issue last year. No explosives. Nickel and diming is tough because you gotta execute a lot of plays to sustain drives. Get enough 3rd and 6's and it's tough to keep sustaining that to punch it in. My hope this year is that with bigger armed QB's and quick receivers like MJJ, JJ, Dawson, and Fair that we can try to use their speed to take the top off every so often and create some explosives. Not getting my hopes up, but it's our best chance

TEs feast in the RedZone. They are matchup nightmares and pick specialist

You can't account for the wash, everyone gets picked and if you align your corner 3x3 to take away the slide, the TE just seals and squats.

Kind of hokey to use madden plays but this will help people visualize what we are talking about. So many different play out of these two formations are deadly in the redzone. >the 13 personnel set I was speaking to above: https://www.madden-school.com/playbooks/tampa-bay-buccaneers/offense/singleback/wing-pair/ >the bunch set BigBird is talking about: https://www.madden-school.com/playbooks/tampa-bay-buccaneers/offense/singleback/bunch-ace/ Edited April 13, 2022 by Didba

Beautiful country up there! We hope to do some canoe camping in the Buffalo when the kids are a little older. Edit: ON. We hope to canoe camp ON the Buffalo. Think we'll have better luck getting the kids back out there if we don't camp IN the river. Edited April 15, 2022 by McLoofus

AuburnEagle79 2,169
There is no reason that we can't hit a TE or slot for 4-5 yards every drop back if the protection is there. Soften them up on the short passing game and Tank, and you'd think we'd have some over the top PA opportunities.
