From the way insiders talked after the Lawrence visit he was blown away and they expected he would commit soon. It is Wednesday now and I can't help it I am getting a little worried. It seems like Tyson is no longer an option and it has been a while on Cleveland is it possible that by slow playing players because we were sure about Lawrence that we won't get any?

I hope I am just being a Nervous Nancy.

@AuburnNTexas Everything is still good on the Lawrence front. Just be patient.

lol! Well it looks like we'll know on Cleveland by Sunday. I'm hearing that we're more all in for Lawrence and obviously CBP knows what he's doing, but I'm still hoping it's Cleveland and Lawrence. That would be 1 sick team.

Unless we have a garauntee from Lawrence, part of me wishes we would take Cleveland and be done with it.

I feel the same, but without being on the inside we'll just have to hope Freeze and CBP can figure out how to share the NIL money so that both sports can win. I imagine Lawrence+Cleveland would be expensive.

If Cleveland commits and Lawrence goes to the gleague tryouts … once that’s done, would that possibly work to our advantage to land both?

No. Cleveland is likely picking Miami Sunday. There's a Lebron James joke in there somewhere.

Why Miami?  I thought Missouri had a good chance

We may be able to get Cleveland still, but BP needs to decide

I know it's up to him but we need to hedge here.  Cleveland is not a slouch back up

How far out the limb he wants to climb

The one thing I can tell you now: a 6’7 two way wing that can create his own shot is going to look like a fringe first rounder in Coach L’s system. Just telling y’all that now to mentally prepare ahead of time

Going to miss the absolute s*** out of his defense and hustle. Hope it works out for him in OM

I will not miss him dribbling the ball off of his knee.

Eh, I don’t think anyone would, but the alternative at that position offensively was Lior Berman going 0/3 from 3 (in any game where his shot was actually contested) or CMo getting like 1 shot attempt.

We unfortunately needed more initiating from that position due to the inconsistencies of guys like KD and Jaylin and the nonexistence of Zep. In an ideal world, Flanigan would’ve been exclusively 3 and D, but that just wasn’t what we had

Auburn's Allen Flanigan enters portal as grad transfer

Flanigan started 69 games in his four years on the Plains

Nathan King43 mins

As has been anticipated throughout the early stages of the offseason, Allen Flanigan is moving on from Auburn.

The senior has elected to enter the portal, a source informed Auburn Undercover on Monday. The 6-foot-6 wing has an extra year of eligibility due to his participation in the COVID-19 season. The transfer portal closes Thursday, though that doesn't apply to grad transfers like Flanigan, who walked across the stage at Auburn over the weekend.

Last month, Auburn assistant Wes Flanigan— Allen’s dad — left Bruce Pearl's staff to join Chris Beard at Ole Miss.

Primarily a defensive specialist as a freshman in 2019-20, Flanigan blossomed into an All-SEC player his sophomore season, averaging 14.3 points per game and improving his 3-point percentage from 14.3 to 33.8.

Flanigan suffered a torn Achilles ahead of the 2021-22 season, though he still started 20 games during Auburn's run to an SEC regular-season championship.

Last season, Flanigan came off the bench for the first 15 games until starter Chris Mooresuffered a shoulder injury that limited him the rest of the season. The Arkansas native was highly effective on both ends of the floor in his 18 ensuing starts, contributing 11.3 points per game on 34 percent shooting from beyond the arc, plus 5.3 rebounds. In addition to sixth-year guard Zep Jasper, Flanigan’s length and athleticism made him one of the Tigers’ best perimeter defenders, too.

Auburn has brought in a pair of transfers this offseason: FIU guard Denver Jones and UAH wing Chaney Johnson.

My mindstate is, you can only view guys in the situation they’re put in. Flanigan sat back and played his role 2 seasons ago when we had more guys who could create. When we needed someone other than Wendell to try dribbling this season, there wasn’t a bevy of other options lol
