The 2nd impeachment was absolutely meaningless, however the 1st exposed Trump's abuse of office clearly. Richard Nixon was forced to resign for much less. If nobody questioned what he did, he would have escalated his actions until he got what he wanted.

And the impeachments were a waste of time and reset the new standard for being the opposition party SSSOOO incredibly low that I truly fear that the nation may be permanently injured. 

Most of us feared trump. The thinkers also fear the over-reaction that came with it.
