Monica aside, Clinton may have been the last sane president that was wasn’t an idiot or an ideologue.  A pragmatic politician. No wars, kick butt economy, and eventually became  a moderate compromiser.  Back when being a moderate was electable.

His message about how the border should look was true then and is true now. It must be protected. That’s why it remains curious that 30 years later and equal years of each party in the White House, it still isn’t. Also, I had forgotten what a true SOTU address is supposed to look and sound like. No unprofessional catcalls or disruptions from Congress as the President spoke. Congress wasn’t perfect then but much more professional and civil than what we have today.

People forget how moderate Clinton actually was.  To be honest, Obama was much more moderate than what some wanted to paint him as being.  He spent a lot of energy pushing back on the far left over and over, to the extent that many still complain about it today.

Clinton was 46 when he started his first term.  How many Monicas would either of the two current nominees have under the desk if they were 30 years younger?  LOL
