moe 0
Campbell was one of the SEC's most erratic passers? News to me.

WarDlowe 39
He was before last year 190926 Before even game 3 of last year, JC had already solidified himself as the most accurate passer in Auburn history. You don't do that in one season, you do that with a career. Did JC falter some, yes. But he did not always suck like so many try to say, he just never unlocked all of his potential until his senior season, and what a season it was. rolltoomer 0
Can you imagine Jason's stats if Tuberville had hired Borges for '03 instead of the well-intentioned, but unfortunate, Nall experiment? The fact that Jason survived and thrived after all he was put through is a remarkable testament to his character and talent.
Texan4Auburn 1,626
Auburn coach Tommy Tuberville has since blamed himself, saying the coaching staff dumped too much of the burden on Cox in his first collegiate start. THis is from the above linked article. Now I thought it was plainly stated somewhere that Tuberville never took any blame?
GalensGhost 0
He was before last year 190926 AMAZING. How can you call yourself an Auburn fan and maintain this kind of uninformed opinion? In 2003, Campbell's efficiency rating was higher than Eli Manning's -- yes, the same Eli Maning who was being pumped by every nostalgic ex-jock with a microphone as a Heisman Trophy candidate. The same Eli that went number one in the NFL draft. But Campbell's efficiency numbers were better than his. Only problem is Jason missed the 'minimum chances' cutoff by a couple of throws. I'm tired of hearing people knock Jason as if he were a bad quarterback or something for three years. If you look at 2003 he was one of our most consistent performers. He singlehandedly won the Ole Miss game -- and then we dropped two passes in the endzone and lost it. The guy that wrote that article is a Tennessee backer and his ignorance can be overlooked if not excused. But Auburn fans need to recognize just how important Jason Campbell was to this football program. You ask me, he's one of the top three quarterbacks to ever wear the orange and blue. Jason, Reggie Slack and Pat Sullivan.
sntemp 0
Jason Campbell was a much better QB before the 2004 season than he was given credit for. 2002 Stats: shared QB role 94 of 149 (63%) for 1215 yds, 11 TD's, 5 INT's also had 206 yds rushing w/ 3 TD's 2003 Stats: 171 of 271 (63%) for 2129 yds, 10 TD's, 7 INT's 2004 Stats: 188 of 270 (69%) for 2700 yds 20 TD's, 7 INT's No doubt his best year was 2004 but how many teams would take a 63% passer? And how many would call that inconsistent?
