Fanspoll 2006

Hey Everyone, just wanted to make the announcement that Fanspoll is back again this year. I worked with them last year and it's still going strong. Here's the basics:

Last year, Fanspoll.com really got some traction on a national level. For those of you who dont remember, Fanspoll.com is a website that gives the fans an opportunity to voice their opinion and have a say in regards to who should be the College Football National Champion. The website centers around a weekly Pick Em game where fans compete both nationally and against other fans of their favorite team. And at the end of the season, the best picker from each team gets to submit their vote for Top 25 and national champ. (sort of like a college football electoral college).

The Fanspoll.com site is bigger and better than last season after undergoing a complete overhaul.

There's a random prize drawing for EVERYONE who enters whether you are good at picks or not. Last year we gave away a 2006 Chevy Tahoe. This year we are giving away a plasma tv.

The best overall picker for the season will win a prize or cash of $1000 or more.

We also give $50 Best Buy gift certificates weekly to the overall pick em winner for that week.

We have a bowl pick em where you pick all the bowl games...and it is part of the national pick em race for the $1000 prize, but also, the overall bowl pick em winner, will win a prize valued around $500 dollars. (Possibly an Xbox 360 prize pack). This way, you can win prizes even if you arent doing well in the overall pick em.

And the big thing, each member gets to submit their own Top 25 ballot EVERY week. And we eliminate bias by having each schools members' Top 25s make up a composite Top 25 for that school. Then we take all 119 composite polls to make up our weekly Top 25 poll. (It worked out great last year, our members had Texas #1 early in the season).

Mack Brown was gracious enough to take a picture with the Fanspoll.com National Champion trophy we sent him, and you can see it on our website. He also said that the trophy would find a permanent home in the UT trophy room in Austin.

The Week 1 Pick Em is already up! Its free, its fun, and you could win some cool stuff.

A lot of you guys signed up last year and if so, your login info should still work. If you didn't, come over and represent the Tigers in Fanspoll.

Folks, this is just a thread for the weekly results over at Fanspoll.com, a site I help with and several members here at AUN are a part of as well. This isn't a thread for each person's personal poll.

However, if you haven't already, go over to Fanspoll and sign up. They've got some prizes each week for the pick'em contest and you get to vote on the Top 25.
