I'm a homer because I think Alabama will win more than 5 games? You're the only person in this 4 page thread who says we will win 5 games. So why am I a blind homer?

Last year Shula won 6 games.

You trade UF for UGA, which this year is a pretty even trade.

Last year the only decent OOC game Shula played was Hawaii.

FSU > Hawaii.

You're the one who came in here to criticize my prediction as wild homeristic jibberish.

I merely pointed out that I could just as easily accuse you of the same for your complete disbelief that I could predict Saban to lose one more game than Shula when you said:

You realize you just said that Mike Shula is a better coach than Nick Saban...by a long shot.

Which by the way winning one more game when faced with lesser net opponents is not a long shot. See how you're the one who prefers to deal in extremes?

No. No. No.

Alabama played 11 regular season games last year. They finished 6-5. They play 12 this year. So with a marginally tougher OOC schedule due to one game with FSU, and the same SEC schedule difficulty...you expect Saban to go 5-7 vs Shula's 6-5. When Saban's team is deeper than was last year's Bama squad.

So you are saying you think Shula is a better coach. And because I don't think Saban will go 5-7, you are accusing me of thinking Saban is some God? Like he will have to work a miracle to win more than 5 games?

I may not be a rocket surgeon, but I recall UAT playing 12 games last year, and Shula went 6-6, losing the bowl game to go 6-7.

I actually think Chizad is wrong!!!

My guess $aban goes 0-12 after all of the recruiting violations come out and you guys are put on probation and stripped of wins. :poke:

Someone please call Bradford for BG. Either that or get the boy an abacus!

Maybe he blocked out that crucial game against Mississippi State?

Yeah, my mistake. I saw a preview this morning that showed us going 6-6 last year. My bad.

I still think assuming I'm being unreasonable because I expect us to win more than 5 games is a joke.

There you go again. Pulling that patented BG move by manipulating what the conversation is really about.

I never said you were being unreasonable because you expect to win more than 5 games.

Ever.

In fact, it's very reasonable.

You came in here to our "Bold Predictions" thread and stated that mine on uat was a "joke".

It's not statistically the most likely scenario, but it's my bold prediction. And all it means is that $aban loses ONE more game than Shula did last year since you added FSU to the schedule. Lock me up, I'm downright certifiable!

Kentucky will be in Atlanta in December. For the Chick-Fil-A Bowl that is.

South Carolina will beat Florida and Georgia in the same season for the first time since...18 something?

In a freak accident, Rammer Lammer guy cripples Big Al after taking a leap from the new upper deck after Bama's home loss to Houston.

AU has to beat UA to win west--and narrowly does.

LSU narrowly beats AU.

AU hands it to UF--10+ pts.

USC wins east.

AU vs. USC in SEC champ.

AU wins SEC in o.t.

I french kiss CTT mid-field of Georgia Dome.

CTT gets me with an uppercut.

Police escort me to metro ATL holding facility.

Wife sends divorce papers.

Boss fires me.

Time for '09 recruiting.

Mark My Words:

:vandy: comes into Auburn on October 6 with no worse than a 3-1 record. Check.

:lsu: folds and has a 2003 Auburn-type season (folds under the expectations). Blew this one.

:ut: loses 2 out of their first 3 games Check.

:ua: goes 7-5 in the regular season, but wins their lower-tier bowl game. The MNC rumbling begins for 2008. Close. If they could have just beaten La Monroe this one would have been money.

:au: loses at Florida and at Arkansas, goes 10-2 and thanks to LSU knocking off Arky in the Battle of the Boot, goes on to win the SECCG in a rematch against Georgia. Blew this one.

Out of my 5 predictions, I hit two dead on, blew two, and was one embarrasing (yet satisfying) loss by UAT away from nailing a 3rd one. Not too bad.

:usc: CSS reminds everyone why he is called, without question, the best coach in the SEC. 9-10 wins.

Well, even CSS has a down year. Face it, losing 5 straight is hell for CSS.

Ole Miss: Shrek saves his job, much to the chagrin of Ole Miss fans by holding on his job by having one huge upset this year. DKW thinks it may be Bama.

Shrek did worse than even I expected. His talent got better and he got another 3-8 season. Ole Miss did take Bama to the veryt last seconds of the game with it ending on a horrible call by the officials.

Yaw Yaw Yaw Goodbye!

:ua: Begins to return to form later in season. The rest of the nation will be impressed. Bama fans are gathering bricks because it wont be what they wanted. 7-8 wins.

I truly was worried that Bama would turn the corner early with the talent pool at WR. They did play well, early in the season for some strange reason. They looked awful the last half tho losing four straight before beating a hapless/luckless team in Colorado.

:lsu: Wins 12 games and Miles considers moving on. 34 wins and no Championships with that talent has the tiger fans upset. Loses SECCG.

Won 12-check. Won-SECCG and Won BCS. Congrats to Miles and Tigers. The decline may start this season tho if some are right. I dont think it happens yet. But after losing Perilloux, anything can happen now.

:ut: 8-9 wins. Fulmer is officially on the hot seat as most of his team graduates.

Gets to the SECCG, Wins East, Team graduates, off the field problems, Fulmer IS on the hotseat.

VANDY Good news! They go to a bowl game! It will be the across town in Nashville. Actually they will win 6 games, and go to a minor bowl. The entire SEC gets together and sells the game out for them.

Well, We all still hope they make it some time.

Arkansas: D-Mac wins the Heisman, gets a decent car and watches as Nutt is fired anyway.

D-Mac should have won the Heisman. Nutt did get fired. No one outside of Fayetteville gave a damn.

:uf: Wins yet another SECCG and no one notices because of the 14 week HYPE of the USC Trojans.

Florida gets exposed for having no rb talent as the SEC found out how to defend Tebow.

:au: Will surprise a few teams and scribes. Pencil them in for another 11 win season. We do not make the SECCG again and the grumbling starts for CTT at some low level.

We won 9, should have won 10-11 with the MSU and USF games. We still might not have made the SECCG however. Long off the field season starting with the contract problems.

I didnt do well at all last year. I did not see USF or MSU losses for us tho either.

:usc: - As always, over-hyped and picked to beat/upset UGA yet as ALWAYS they lose and end up 3rd/4th in the SEC East. Been that way for 100 years.

Well, I was right except for the UGA game

:ut: - Probably wins the East if their D can be consistent
Was correct
:uk: - Woodsen has another solid stat year yet UK maxes out at 6-7 wins and a lower tier bowl.
Somewhat correct

:uf: - Grossly, and I mean GROSSLY, over-rated in most polls. Tebow has a solid season yet his lack of passing in the SEC leads to a lot of growing pains along with the emergence of Brantley as UF's throwing QB. UF wins 9-10 games with a win as always against UGA.

Ouch. Was right about wins, completely wrong on Tebow

:uga: - D plays good most of the year but falls short in 1-2-3 games, maybe 1-2 of those being in non-big games. I think we start off 2-0 yet fall short in several games to finish 9-3, 10-2

Eh, generally correct but not in the way I saw

:au: - Cox's health is what worries me. With that said, a healthy Cox = West/SECC. If not, I think a UGA like season occurs and AU wins 9 games due to Borges clicking with whoever is 2nd string.

Generally correct

Bama - My surprise SEC pick. I think they have a chance to win the West if their D can pick up Saban's scheme quick enough. Overall, I see 8-9 wins.

Heading into LSU, I was right. Well, not really but kinda
