LSU/Bama Game Thread

Is that not holding on Smith or can you do that when a ball is loose like that?

Anything goes on a fumble. Kinda like you can tackle a guy after the ball is tipped and its not PI.

OK, I am definitely NOT rooting for Bama. Trust me on that one.

O yea, I forgot unless you BASH Bama, you can't be an Auburn fan and therefore are a Bammer. I guess that makes me a fan of 126 other schools out there as well... Sorry if I wish to give Bama credit for playing well.

Dude:

Well, barring a miracle, it looks like LSU might win in spite of their coach and OC.

Okay, the review team is all in the booth, asking each other, "How can we screw LSU THIS time?"

In all fairness, most of the reviews have gone LSU's way this game. Its the penalties that have gone bama's way.

But the replays were correct, the penalties, not so much.

Not being able to run the ball hurts when you get a lead and need to burn some clock.

This game should be LSU by 21 at least. Noway it should have come down to this. I can't wait until Auburn gets them this year! If the game is called fairly and Auburn plays like they have over the past 6 weeks, we win big.

War Tiger, where did you go?

Offside

ARTICLE 2. a. After the ball is ready for play, offside occurs when a

defensive player is in or beyond the neutral zone when the ball is legally

snapped, contacts an opponent beyond the neutral zone before the ball

is snapped, contacts the ball before it is snapped, threatens an offensive

lineman (who immediately reacts) before the ball is snapped, or is not

behind his restraining line when the ball is legally free-kicked (Rule 7-1-5-

a-2) (A.R. 7-1-3-VIII Note).

b. Offside occurs when players

I think jared52 or someone like that also stated that. You can find it in the NCAA rulebook

NCAA Rules - I told you

Bama WAS OFFSIDES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

doesn't matter. there was no contact and if the defensive player caused the offensive player to move, so its a false start.

Ummmm check the rules. All you have to do is be in the neutral zone. :poke:

not true...try again.

So you are saying if a defensive player were to walk behind the QB and an offensive lineman to move, it would be false start? I know i have seen plays where the DL runs past the Tackle and the tackle moved, only to be called offsides. It's called "drawing a false start" or something like that. I'm POSITIVE this rule exists. If not - I will never question you again. Hell I might even go as far to say I would never post on this board again

No, I'm not saying that.

This is why i think they called it a false start....

ARTICLE 4. a. If a snap is preceded by a huddle or shift, all players of the

offensive team must come to an absolute stop and remain stationary in their

positions, without movement of the feet, body, head or arms, for at least one

full second before the ball is snapped (A.R. 7-1-4-I) [s20].

b. It is not intended that Rule 7-1-4-a should prohibit smooth, rhythmical

shifts if properly executed. A smooth cadence shift or unhurried motion

is not an infraction. However, it is the responsibility of an offensive

player who moves before the snap to do so in a manner that in no way

simulates the beginning of a play. After the ball is ready for play and

all players are in scrimmage formation, no offensive player shall make

a quick, jerky movement before the snap, including but not limited to

(A.R. 7-1-4-II-IV):

1. A lineman moving his foot, shoulder, arm, body or head in a quick,

jerky motion in any direction [s19].

2. The snapper shifting or moving the ball or moving his thumb or

fingers, flexing his elbows, jerking his head, or dipping his shoulders

or buttocks [s19].

3. The quarterback “chucking’’ his hands at the snapper, flexing his

elbows under the snapper, jerking his head or dropping his shoulders

quickly just before the snap [s19].

4. A player, before the snap, simulating receiving the ball by “chucking’’

his hands toward the snapper or quarterback or making any quick,

jerky movement that simulates the beginning of a play [s19].

The whole line moving the way they did, constitutes simulation of the snap...

Bye now...
