WOW! Did not realize it was this extensive. Of course, I don't count the Arkansas and Ole Miss changes as unusual because it's normal to expect a head coach change to involve a nearly total change of assistants.

Major Applewhite (Off. Coordinator) not yet replaced

Ron Middleton (special teams) replaced by Bobby Williams

ARKANSAS (7/7)

David Lee (offensive coordinator) replaced by Paul Petrino (who will coach receivers)

&Reggie Herring (defensive coordinator) replaced by Ellis Johnson (will share DB duties)

Alex Wood (wide receivers) replaced by Garrick McGee (who will coach quarterbacks)

Mike Markuson (offensive line) replaced by Mike Summers

Tracy Rocker (defensive line) replaced by Kirk Botkin (defensive ends, special teams)

Chris Vaughn (safeties/recruiting) replaced by Lorenzo Ward

James Shibest (tight ends/special teams) replaced by Reggie Johnson (linebackers)

& Herring's linebacker duties will be picked up by Reggie Johnson

* Tim Horton (remains as running backs coach, picks up TEs and recruiting coordinator titles)

* Bobby Allen (switches from cornerbacks coach to defensive tackles)

I'm glad at least we don't have any positions still in the "not yet replaced" catagory.

And one other thing, since I was reminded of a name on this list:

I'm a little surprized that I never saw any fans mention Tracy Rocker during our DC search. I'm happy with Rhoads and not suggesting otherwise. Also, I don't even know if TR is ready or able to coordinate a whole defense. But generally in the past whenever a defensive vacancy has been discussed at Auburn, I've always heard at least one fan, either on-line or in person, mention Tracy's name. [Much like Patrick Nix' name usually comes up in any offensive coaching discussion.] I'm kind of surprized his name didn't come up these last two weeks.

LSU has not offered the position to anyone. Looking like we are going to hire a special teams coach and promote from within for DC.... possibly having co-DCs.

What about the DC from Georgia Tech? I had thought AU and LSU were after this guy once Gailey was fired. We went in a different direction after Muschamp left, and I thought LSU would hire him after the NC game.
